The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist/CNM 2 for Neurology (Rare Disease) is to provide safe, efficient and effective care to patients with neurological conditions with a focus on rare diseases, including genetic forms of epilepsy, movement disorders, ataxia and neuromuscular disorders. S/he will be part of a Multidisciplinary team involved in the assessment and management of care to this patient cohort. As a clinical specialist, s/he will guide, support and educate staff nurses, other health care professionals, patients and their families to promote quality care. The candidate will engage in continuing professional development, research and audit to ensure advanced, developed and best practice. The candidate will adhere to local policies, procedures and guidelines. S/he will promote and develop services in line with the National Clinical Care Program for Neurology.
