Project Worker OFD
Name of Project: Own Front Door Project (OFD) Introduction to the Model The OFD project seeks to develop effective and sustainable Emergency accommodation and services (through housing, as an alternative to hostels and hotels) for families and single people referred by the relevant Local authority. The project worker will then assess the individuals/family needs to establish appropriate services and supports including schools, parenting and childcare for families. The key objective is to ensure a coordinated response to access and exit appropriate housing and healthcare and social support to exit homelessness and sustain a home long-term. Some case work will be allocated under our Housing Plus programme to support long-term tenants in crisis and ensure long-term tenancy sustainment. Good Shepherd Centre Kilkenny works in conjunction with Mental Health Service Area 5, and in partnership with Kilkenny Council, Tipperary, Laois and Carlow County Councils.

The Department’s strategic goals include: · to promote and safeguard public, animal and plant health and animal welfare for the benefit of consumers producers and wider society · provide income and market supports to underpin the rural economy and the environment · provide the optimum policy framework for the sustainable development of the agri-food sector · deliver a sustainable, growth driven sector focused on competitiveness and innovation driven by a skilled workforce delivering value added products in line with market demands · maintain and develop strategic, operational, regulatory and technical capacity to achieve operational excellence Further information on the Department can be viewed here Vacancies The Department currently has 1 vacancy for the role of Craft Worker (Agricultural Mechanic – State Industrial Grade) - Kildare in Crop Policy, Evaluation and Certification Division located Backweston Farm, Leixlip, Co Kildare, W23 AE3V. The successful candidate will be headquartered in Backweston but may on occasion be required to temporarily work on Longtown farm as required by management. Backweston Farm is situated outside Leixlip in Co Kildare and consists primarily of crops on approximately 100ha and is the headquarters for Crops Policy, Evaluation and Certification Division (CPECD) within DAFM. CPECD is responsible for the official field and laboratory trials for the Value for Cultivation and Use (VCU) of newly developed varieties of agricultural crop species. Each year newly bred crop varieties for a range of crops are submitted by European and world plant breeders for evaluation in official Department trials and the best performing varieties are communicated to farmers by way of the Recommended Lists. Longtown Farm is situated outside Clane in Co Kildare and consists of primarily livestock on approximately 114ha and is unique in Ireland in providing for bio-containment of animals of minimal disease status and of known infected status. The facilities provide for the veterinary research of pathogenesis of infectious disease and the host response. The farm is licensed by the Health Product Regulatory Authority (HPRA). It hosts a suckler herd, beef cattle, sheep enterprise along with pigs, poultry and horses. Longtown Farm’s primary function is to support and assist the Department’s Veterinary Laboratory Divisions and other veterinary Divisions in their work. Following an assessment process, candidates who achieve the qualifying standard will be placed on an Order of Merit from which appointments will be made. The post will be offered to the candidate ranked first and, if refused, to the remaining candidates in sequence until the post is filled. The Order of Merit will remain in place for a period of up to two years from the date of the first appointment, or until exhausted, and will be used to fill further vacancies, if any, that may arise during that period in DAFM Backweston but also in DAFM’s Longtown Farm, Clane, Co Kildare. Candidates who accept an offer of appointment will receive no further offers relating to this competition. Location and Role: The post is based 5 days per week in our office in Clarinbridge, Co Galway The HR Data Administrator is a key member of the HR Team, providing high level administrative, operational and analytical support across the full spectrum of HR activities. The post holder will play a central role in HR data analytics and administration of some core HR functions. This role requires a professional with strong analytical co-ordination, strong HR administration skills, advanced data reporting skills and the ability to work with accuracy and discretion in a fast paced, regulated environment. Day Activities Facilitator
1. Tenure of Employment This post is Permanent Part Time working 53 hours per fortnight. Compulsory Retirement age is 70 years. 2. Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate must: • Have a third level qualification relevant to the provision of service to individuals with intellectual disabilities or at a minimum a QQI Level 5 major award • Experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities • Have excellent communication skills • Have the ability to listen and respond to the needs of people who use the services • Have the ability to be innovative and creative and work on one’s own initiative • Be computer literate • Possess a full clean category B driving licence • Have knowledge / awareness of supporting people with autism Experience of working as a member of a team is essential. 3. Remuneration Salary Scale: (pro rata) Supervisor / Instructor Grade: €35,932; €38,098; €38,902; €40,071; €41,088; €41,968; €43,235; €44,549; €45,912; €47,323; €48,785; €50,300; €51,887 Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due will be paid from date of submission of documents. All new entrants to the Public Service will start at the first point of this scale. 4. Working Hours The normal working fortnight will be 53 hours however flexible hours, including weekend, evenings may be required. Starting and finishing times will be notified to, and agreed with, the appointee from time to time by the Team Leader / Services Manager. Corlann Services model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees’ to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. 5. Health The successful candidate must be free from any defect or disease, which would render him / her unsuitable to hold the appointment, and must be in a state of health as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. To satisfy this qualification, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical examination by the Occupational Health Nurse / Physician. 6. Duties The general duties of the appointment are as described in the attached Job Description. 7. Selection Process A short list of candidates to attend before the Selection Board will be prepared by the Selection Board from an examination of statements of qualifications furnished by the candidates. 8. A high degree of flexibility is required as the timing and location of the supports provided will be dictated by the individual’s plan.
