Hsemw Social Worker Team Leader, Adult Safeguarding & Protection
Adult Safeguarding & Protection Team (SPT) The Adult Safeguarding and Protection Team for the Mid West Areaprovides services to individuals and organisations in delivering the HSE’s Social Care Division’s commitment to promoting the protection, welfare and safeguarding of vulnerable persons at risk of abuse. The team is under the umbrella of the Quality, Safety & Service Improvement division (QSSI). The post holder, under the management and leadership of the Principal Social Worker, will be required to work with all agencies, statutory, voluntary and private to ensure that the national policy for Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse (incorporating services for elder abuse and persons with a disability) is implemented and adhered to in a consistent manner within the Mid West Area. The structure of the team comprises a Principal Social Worker, Social Work Team Leaders, Professionally Qualified Social Workers, Business Manager, and Clerical Officer. There is a currently a review of the HSE National Safeguarding Policy, it is probable that the future policy will cover all service users within the HSE or HSE funded services who are at risk of abuse and in need of support in addressing such issues.
