University Hospital Kerry is the second largest of the Health Service Executive –HSE South West seven acute hospitals. With a catchment area of Kerry, North Cork & West Limerick it services a population of approx. over 180,554. In addition, the Kerry area has quite a large visiting population – Bord Fáilte/ Shannon Development estimate there are approximately 2 million tourists visiting this region annually, principally during the summer months. Clinical Nurse Manager, Resuscitation Training Officer
The Resuscitation Training Officer (RTO) will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of the resuscitation service within the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. This will involve planning, organisation, implementation and evaluation of all Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) training for appropriate personnel. The post holder will act as an expert in resuscitation providing advice on an all aspects of resuscitation training, education and practice. The RTO will be responsible for the supervision, review and audit of resuscitation procedures.
