IT Technical Officer

Recycling Attendant
The post holder will be primarily based at one of the Councils 9 Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) but may be required to work at any of the other HRCs on occasion to meet the needs of the service. The post holder will be responsible to the HRC Supervisor for the day-to-day operation of the Councils HRCs. To undertake all duties associated with the operation of the Household Recycling Centre/Amenity Site to ensure that all domestic and commercial waste is disposed of in accordance with the Council’s policy for recycling whilst providing the highest level of customer care at all times. The Household Recycling Centres are licensed Waste Management facilities and must operate in accordance with licensing conditions stipulated by DAERA (NIEA) including being manned at all times whilst open. Recreation Associate
Committing to the one-team ethos, you will be flexible and collaborative, and you will actively support all colleagues and other activities necessary to deliver the leisure service objectives. As a Recreation Associate (Lifeguard), you will implement the Council’s safe systems of operations relating to the Pools Safety Operating Procedures (PSOP). You will maintain the safety of all users in Council’s swimming pools as a key priority, and it is therefore imperative you will be motivated, qualified, vigilant and responsible when dispensing your role and responsibility on poolside. You will be responsible for the delivery of safe working practices and be expected to undertake a wide range of duties across a range of leisure facilities and activities, ensuring service delivery is achieved to specified standards with a quality leisure experience being offered to all our customers. Administrative Officer
Salary: Scale 5 SCP 14 – 19 £28,624 – £31,067 per annum JOB PURPOSE: The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a confidential and comprehensive secretarial and administration service within the Department ensuring priorities, targets and deadlines are met whilst achieving a high level of accuracy and customer service in a busy environment. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 1. Work as part of a team liaising with others to ensure the provision of customer and administrative support service across the Department. 2. Fulfil a customer care role, being the first point of contact for the receipt, initial assessment and distribution of complaints/ service requests and all enquiries in relation to Departmental functions. 3. Maintain and update data management and filing systems, generate and verify reports and statistical returns ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate processes on data handling and record retention and disposal processes. Provide information from systems as requested. 4. Process, prepare and issue applications, correspondence, licences, notices and all documents with accuracy and within agreed time scales. 5. Carry out administrative processes associated with the preparation of legal files to support case progression. Undertake audio transcriptions in relation to PACE interviews and other legal matters. 6. Provide administrative support to assist the delivery of Departmental functions such as Animal Welfare service, as required to ensure adequate cover is available. 7. Process purchase orders, purchase and sales invoices and accounts using financial software package, allocating spend and revenue to appropriate cost centre coding in accordance with Council financial protocols. 8. Process received income, penalties and fees, prepare and reconcile financial records for bank lodgements and lodge monies, as required in line with Council’s financial protocols. 9. Operate the Petty Cash System, including the recording and balancing of accounts, in accordance with financial protocols. 10. Support departmental, team or other meetings or seminars etc. within the functions of the Department as requested, by organising meetings, preparing agendas, note taking and issue of same within agreed time scales. 11. Assist with internal and external monitoring audits and the development of procedures and systems to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the administrative service to the Department 12. Participate in team/ Departmental or cross Departmental meetings and training and cascade information to other staff members as required on any relevant changes. As required, train others on the use of Departmental systems. Assist with the training of those assigned to the department e.g. work experience/agency staff. 13. Participation in interchange of duties to cover for sickness, annual leave, staff vacancies etc. 14. Undertake any other relevant duties that may be required and are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POST : Character: Each candidate must be of good character. Health Candidates shall be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a medical examination carried out by the Council’s Occupational Medical advisor prior to appointment. Citizenship: Candidates must, by the date of any job offer, be: a) A citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA). Confined Competition (Panels A and C as appropriate) (v) (a) be a serving employee of a local authority or a regional assembly and have not less than two years’ satisfactory experience in a post of Clerical Officer or analogous post, and (b) have satisfactory experience in administrative procedures, including adequate practical experience in work of an executive nature, office organization and control of staff DETAILS AND PARTICULARS: The Position The Senior Staff Officer is a middle management position within the Council and is assigned responsibility for the day-to-day administration and management of a section or department handling an area of the local authority’s activities, including management and supervision of staff. The Senior Staff Officer is responsible for ensuring that goals set out in Departmental and Team Plans become operational actions through the planning, allocation and prioritisation of work. The Senior Staff Officer is a key point of contact and liaison with other Sections or Departments in relation to all operational matters for the service delivery section or sections for which they are responsible. The Senior Staff Officer is expected to carry out their duties with an understanding of the political context of local government and in such a manner that enhances public trust and confidence and ensures impartial decision making. Duties & Responsibilities The Senior Staff Officer responsibilities are set out below: Probation The successful candidate shall be required to be on probation for an initial period, as determined by the Council. This period may be extended at the discretion of the Council. Salary Remuneration will be at the Senior Staff Officer of the national wage scales. The present minimum scale is €56,754 increasing to €69,337 per annum (including LSIs) with annual increments subject to satisfactory performance via PMDS. The rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Garda Vetting/Child Protection Successful candidates will be subject to the Garda Vetting Procedures. Annual Leave The annual leave entitlement for this post will be 30 days per annum. Granting of annual leave, payment for annual leave and arrangement from public holidays will be governed by the provisions of the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997. Working Hours The post entails a wide range of duties which require maximum flexibility and will be based on a 35 hour week. The Council reserves the right to alter the hours of work from time to time. Pension: The Local Government Superannuation Scheme applies.
