Machine Operator

Purpose of position: The Toolroom PAO (Machine Operator) will be responsible for the cleaning, storage, inspection, preparation, and assembly of tooling used in the CT1 (Extrusion) Department. The person will be responsible to ensure all activity is completed and documented where required in compliance with Nordson Medical quality system. The person will actively communicate with Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments on a regular basis. 2. Principal Duties and responsibilities: Clean and Assemble tooling in accordance with relevant product EXPS (Set-Up Sheets) and Standard Operating Procedures Inspect tooling for general wear & tear, and to identify parts that could potentially lead to manufacturing issues during use. Highlight issues at Shift Handovers and in the future document these when a traceability system is formally introduced Periodic Inspection of critical tooling as defined through the Preventative Maintenance System and documentation of the same Ensure tooling is correctly stored and maintained as per relevant Standard Operating Procedures Introduce efficient work practices to the Toolroom area through working with CI Engineer and on own initiative (while adhering to current procedures, or updating current procedures to reflect) Ongoing review of tasks and identification of improvements to those. Complete all work to a high standard with particular focus on adherence to procedures/instructions, adherence to detail, cGMP, and Safety Requirements Actively participate in work centre improvement groups, to improve quality, reduce costs, eliminate waste and improve working methods, conditions and communications. 3. Person Specification: Operators should have attained pass Leaving Certificate or equivalent as a minimum. An Engineering/Mechanical/Tooling background would be beneficial Medical device/pharmaceutical and/or diagnostics manufacturing experience would be very beneficial. Must have a good working knowledge of production and quality system requirements in the health care industry. S/he needs strong communication skills. Practical level headed individual with strong technical ability and a self-starter. Have the ability to effectively manage a simultaneous range of diverse activities. Parts Project & Promotion Support • Collaborate on new parts projects, including BOM setup, costing, logistics, and promotional material (PowerPoint, flyers, campaigns). • Contribute ideas for parts packages and promotions in the ideas portal. Customer Engagement • Support Sales Team with fleet profiles, promotional rollout strategies, and respond to customer feedback post-launch.
