Salary: Scale 3 SCP 7-9 £25,584-£26,409 per annum pro rata based on 37 hours per week plus weekend enhancement JOB PURPOSE: The postholder will ensure the provision of high-quality food, while working to all standards, policies and procedures, ensuring a high-quality customer service. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Input to menu planning for the Coffee Shop and for Events at the Centre. 2. Preparation and cooking connected with a full range of meals, includes portion control and function catering. 3. Preparation of specialised Barista style teas and coffees. 4. Provide a counter/table/ buffet service to customers. 5. Cleaning duties e.g., dishes, tables, catering areas, floors and equipment and specialised cleaning. 6. Handling cash, includes till transactions, preparation of floats, and reconciliation of cash at end of shifts. 7. Undertake stock control duties including stock rotation, stock taking, ordering and inventory checks. 8. Responsible for securing the Café area at the end of shift in line with Councils policy and procedures. 9. Act as team leader, assist with staff rotas, and oversee work of casual catering staff. 10. Carry out similar duties in any other Council facility if required. 11. Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by Management. 12. Maintaining excellent hygiene standards and implementing health and safety and security processes using systems and keeping records in accordance with current legislation and guidelines e.g., HACCP, COSHH. 13. Maintain all equipment, food commodities, cutlery etc., in good working order and report all detects and deficiencies. 14. Contribute to increasing number of visitors to the Navan Centre through high quality provision and customer service. 15. Report all incidents or accidents, fire, loss, theft, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities. 16. Facilitate buffet service and evening bookings as required. 17. Undertake any other relevant duties that may be required and are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post. Qualifications and training • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent). * Experience • Three months’ catering experience, including food preparation / cooking in a working environment; • Three months’ experience dealing with the public in a working environment; • Three months’ cash handling experience in a working environment. Key skills, knowledge, and attributes • Ability to work as part of a team; • Ability to work on own initiative; • Good communication skills; • Customer focused; • Ability to deal with customer complaints. Working Arrangements/Flexibility Post 1 Summer (1 April to 30 September) (2-week rota). Winter (1 October to 31 March) average of 18.75 hours per week (2-week rota). Post 2 Summer (1 April to 30 September) (2-week rota). Winter (1 October to 31 March) average of 26.63 hours per week (2-week rota). Please note that the hours are averaged across a 52-week period. The postholder may be required to work additional hours and outside normal working hours to meet the needs of the post including, evenings and weekends.

Fellowship in Obesity Medicine Location: Centre for Obesity Management, St Columcille’s & St Vincent’s University Hospitals (SCH/SVUH) Dublin Clinical Lead: Dr Jean O’Connell Duration: 9 Months A Fellowship in Obesity Medicine provides valuable subspecialist training opportunities to future leaders of healthcare delivery, and SCH/SVUH is uniquely placed to provide this training. SCH/SVUH Centre for Obesity Management (COM) is an accredited European Association for Study of Obesity Collaborating Centre for Obesity Management (EASO COM), and national referral centre for complex obesity and bariatric surgery, with an experienced and specialist MDT, and a track record of clinical and translational research and thesis supervision. The Fellow will gain clinical experience within the SCH/SVUH COM multi-disciplinary team, an experienced team of health professionals, including dietitians, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical social worker, clinical nurse specialist, advanced nurse practitioner, endocrinologists and bariatric surgeons. The team have established pathways of care with the respiratory/sleep disorder clinic in SVUH, and recently developed a transitional care pathway with Child & Adolescent Obesity Services in CHI. There are significant research opportunities within this Fellowship and the Fellow will be working with, and gaining clinical and research experience from, Prof Donal O’Shea, HSE Clinical Lead for Obesity and Principal Investigator of the Obesity Immunology Research Group in SVUH, UCD and NUI MaynoothandDr Jean O’Connell, Clinical Lead for SCH/SVUH COM. Senior Occupational Therapist, Care Of The Older Person
The Therapist will have responsibility for provision of specialised out-patient Occupational Therapy Service for the Care of the Older Service. This service is part of the wider Care of the Older Person Occupational Therapy service which comprises the Frailty Intervention Team (FIT), the Acute Medical Assessment Unit, the Specialist Geriatric Ward and specialist off site post-acute care service. There is a strong MDT focus across the services with the use of the Comprehensive geriatric assessment from ED throughout, with a home first ethos.
