The facility will provide the Dublin region with a long-term sustainable and environmentally superior waste management solution, enabling it to divert post-recycled waste from landfills and become locally self-sufficient in managing waste, consistent with regional, national and EU waste policies. Apprentice This role is located in Dublin Ireland and will report to the E&I Manager. The apprentice electrical & instrumentation technician will serve as an integral member of the maintenance and engineering team in a energy from waste power plant. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high standard of work, adhere to schedules and be a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills. the successful candidate will also have good self-awareness, act decisively and be a complete team player. if successful the candidate must attend block releases through a number of phases throughout the 4-year apprenticeship program. This may require attendance to one of the various technical institutions while maintaining and keeping the FAS /SOLAS register up to date. Key Duties / Responsibilities: • Provide support to the on-site maintenance and engineering personnel in daily routine and non-routine tasks. • Operate and maintain electrical systems such as electrical distribution networks, emergency standby equipment, utilities and HVAC • Opportunity to provide technical support to various cross functional teams throughout the site. • Responsible for providing support to all electrical and calibration/instrumentation equipment so they remain operational, • Ensure that all maintenance & calibration duties are carried out in accordance health & safety considerations and site quality standards. • Use of permit to work system and other on-site safety systems to control engineering activities In addition • Use mathematics to solve technical or scientific problems • Install and maintain Refuse cranes, Steam boiler equipment, flue gas treatment plant, air compressors, Hydraulics stations, Water treatment plant, Conveyers, Pumps, Fans, fire alarm systems, CCTV, lightning protection systems • Interpret electrical and electronic schematic diagrams • Work with a variety of specialised hand tools, power tools and equipment • Use mathematics to solve technical or scientific problems • Understanding technical drawings and diagrams • Install various types of wiring and cabling systems • Work on machines and processes • Analyse system faults.
