Working closely with the Head of Estate Management Unit and the Energy Performance Manager, the Head of Energy Resources will be responsible for the delivery of the strategic energy management programme across the Courts Service, with an initial focus of reaching the Courts Service 2020 energy efficiency targets and embedding a culture of sustainable energy management throughout the organisation. It is based in a €70 million purpose built facility on the DCU St Patrick’s Campus in Drumcondra in Dublin. Established in 2016 as Ireland’s first University Faculty of Education, it has a staff of more than 130 full-time academics and a student body in excess of 4,000. The Institute brings together students of education across all sectors from early childhood, to primary, post-primary, and further and higher education. As well as providing a range of undergraduate programmes in education, the Institute offers a rich menu of taught and research-based post-graduate programmes, at doctoral, masters, diploma and certificate levels. School of Human Development The School of Human Development is one of the six schools within the DCU Institute of Education. Skills and Experience The School of Human Development invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the post of Teaching Assistant in Developmental/Educational Psychology. This post offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a part time position in the School of Human Development teaching Developmental and Educational Psychology across a number of University undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The successful candidate will work as part of the TEACH-RSE project team under the supervision and mentorship of the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator. Applicants must hold at a minimum a Level 9 postgraduate qualification at Masters level in Developmental/ Educational Psychology, be able to demonstrate high-level knowledge of their discipline and possess relevant teaching experience, preferably at university level. Previous experience of supervision of undergraduate research projects is also desirable. The candidate should have high quality interpersonal and communication skills consistent with the highest quality of teaching and learning, together with evidence of successful teamwork and a collegial approach. Principal Duties and Responsibilities The main role of the Teaching Fellow will be to contribute to: i. Delivery, management and examination of Developmental/Educational Psychology modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. ii. School/Programme meetings related to the modules contributed to, including examination boards after completion of the modules. iii. Supervision of undergraduate research projects in Human Development and/or Psychology. iv. Supervision of student teachers during their school-based placements. v. Any additional administrative activities associated with teaching and supervision, as required by the School/Programme. vi. Any additional duties related to the TEACH-RSE project, as required by the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator.
