Location: Deerpark Services provides community based day, respite and residential services to adults with varying support needs based on personal outcome measures. Our focus is to form a relationship/partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships. The Role: The Social Care Worker will report to the Team Leader and will fulfil a key role in providing a safe, secure environment where individuals will participate in community and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfil their potential and expectations with opportunities for new experiences. We are looking for individuals with experience working with people with complex needs including autism, mental health issues and behaviours that challenge. Candidates need to be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individual’s they support on a daily basis. Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/Team Manager/Service Coordinator/Area Manager Qualifications: The recognised professional qualifications for social care are as follows: HETAC/NQAI BA Degree in Applied Social Care Studies/Social Care Open Training College (HETAC) accredited BA in Applied Social Studies (Disability) Successful candidate must be registered with or eligible to register with CORU by November 2025. A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement. Experience: Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability is desirable. Standard Duties and responsibilities a) To participate in development of and undertake all duties and functions pertinent to the Consultant’s area of competence, as set out within the Clinical Directorate Service Plan and in line with policies as specified by the Employer. b) To ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that minimises delays for patients and possible disruption of services. c) To work within the framework of the hospital / agency’s service plan and/or levels of service (volume, types etc.) as determined by the Employer. Clinical: · To practice as a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in Cork Mental Health Services under the Public Only Consultant Contract 2023. · To be responsible for the care and treatment of patients in his/her clinical charge and to ensure mechanisms for the co-ordination of the care with the multidisciplinary team and between the team and other health and social care agencies are established and maintained. · To ensure that the service will be community orientated, with treatment provided in the main range of community facilities available, and within the level of resources allocated. To provide a service with the multidisciplinary team for patients referred for specialist treatment encompassing comprehensive programmes of care to include where necessary family support and advice. To lead and engage in the provision of a range of community based assessment and treatment programmes including, out-patients clinics, day hospital services, community services, residential centres, and any service deemed necessary in the future in line with evidenced based practice and National Clinical Programme for Dual Diagnosis · To provide a diagnostic treatment or consultation service as may be appropriate for or in respect of patients for whom the HSE is obliged under any enactment to provide. To develop and provide special clinics and associated services for identified patients. · To keep such records as may be required from time to time by the HSE. · To examine, assess, report and provide advice on every person referred to him/her. · To furnish on request to any registered Medical Practitioner authorized by the HSE or the Minister, the clinical details regarding any person who is or who has been under his/her care, on production of the written consent of the person or the written consent of the person’s representative or next of kin. Whenever the Minister is of the opinion, however, that it would not be in the interests of the common good to seek such consent and he/she certifies accordingly, the Officer shall furnish all required information to a Registered Medical Practitioner authorised by the Minister. Where, however, the Officer is of the opinion that the nature of the case is such that he/she should inform the patient of the requirement of the Minister, he/she then shall be at liberty to do so. It is not however intended that this requirement will operate in a manner, which would detract from the patient’s character or reputation. · To issue, or arrange for the issue of, to or in respect of any patient under his /her care in the hospital or referred to him /her at a clinic and without payment by or on behalf of the HSE, any certificate which might reasonably be required by such patient regard to the state of his/ her health in connection with his /her normal employment, his/ her entitlement to benefit under the scheme of social insurance or assistance. · To supervise and be responsible for the clinical work and record keeping of Non-Consultant Hospital Doctors and as appropriate other staff and to instruct them in the proper performance of their duties. · To ensure that adequate supplies of such drugs, medicines, medical and surgical appliances as he/she considers necessary, will be available in his/her department of the hospital and to report to the HSE, arrangements for the custody of dangerous drugs etc., which he/she considers to be unsatisfactory. · To be responsible, under the Executive Clinical Director/Clinical Director, for the general management and running of hospital and community based departments or of such other psychiatric services operated by the HSE as may be assigned to him/her and to attend and be responsible for the care and treatment of patients concerned in such assignment. · To take a special interest in and be responsible, under the person in charge, for the general organisation of such aspects of the Mental Health Services of the HSE as may be assigned to him/her. · To be responsible for the maintenance of appropriate liaison arrangements between his/her department in the hospital or community services and the patients normal medical attendant. · To participate in a system of professional practice review to support the maintenance of service quality and standards. Senior Clinical Engineering Technician Purpose of the Role The existing CHI Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering departments will merge in the next two years to form the base for a new Healthcare Technology Department (HTD). This new department will provide the typical range of services associated with the practice of medical physics and clinical engineering, including financial stewardship of the medical equipment. However, this new department will also develop new services to support the digital transformation of CHI including integration of medical equipment into ICT systems and providing leadership to accelerate the adoption of innovations afforded by the new digital environment. The new HTD will provide technical and clinical support for the diverse and complex medical equipment in the different clinical areas of the new hospital, and across all the existing CHI sites. Clinical areas supported include, but are not limited to: theatres, intensive care units, cardiology, imaging, paediatric oncology, nephrology, neurology, ophthalmology, the central decontamination unit and laboratories. As the complexity, interconnectivity and interdependence of medical equipment continues to grow, HTD staff will work more closely in partnership with other departments within CHI, such as those supporting and overseeing ICT, Hospital Networks and Estates. Interpret these results and ensure appropriate action is taken. • To investigate complaints across the range of environmental health functions and initiate appropriate actions including preparation and service of statutory notices, fixed penalties etc on proprietors, company secretaries of commercial and industrial operations and members of the public, under the appropriate legislation and where necessary prepare prosecution cases in accordance with council procedures. • To investigate any incidents of infectious disease, food poisoning, infestation, insanitary conditions, accidents in the workplace and pollution incidents and initiate appropriate action. • Act as a witness and provide evidence in criminal and civil courts, public enquiries, tribunals, planning enquiries and appeals. • Devise and deliver appropriate education programmes to businesses and the community. Participate in health improvement activities and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. • Maintain and update knowledge of professional, technical and legislative developments across environmental health functions and provide advice to the Head of Environmental Health and PEHOs. • Prepare documented evidence, compile reports, maintain appropriate records and carry out administrative tasks associated with the duties and responsibilities of the post. Prepare reports and recommendations for presentation to Council and Council Committees. • Represent Fermanagh and Omagh District Council at meetings, as directed, to assist in the development of policies, procedures, examination of proposed legislation, consultative documents etc, to provide a co-ordinated and consistent approach to enforcement. To disseminate information to colleagues and brief the Head of Environmental Health/PEHOs on current issues. • To contribute to the development and implementation of effective departmental and Council policies, plans and procedures. • To provide advice and make recommendations to commercial and government agencies and members of the public on a wide range of Environmental Health issues. • Respond to and participate in out of hours activities, as directed by the HoS & PEHOs, in accordance with office arrangements, to ensure the efficient delivery of the Service e.g. On Call Food Control and Infectious Disease and emergency response to flooding etc. General: • To comply with all the Council’s policies and procedures including the Employee Code of Conduct and the Employee and Councillor Working Relationship Protocol. • To promote the Council’s equal opportunities policies and avoid all forms of discrimination as an employer and a service provider. • To implement all Financial and Procurement policies and procedures • To comply with employee responsibility in relation to all records held, created or used as part of the Council’s business. All records, paper or electronic, are public records and accessible by the general public, with limited exceptions, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Environment Regulations 2004 and the Data Protection Act 1998. • To undertake the duties of the post at all times in a manner that enhances and promotes the positive image of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. • The postholder will be expected to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation. The above list should not be seen as an exhaustive list of duties, and the postholder will be expected to undertake other relevant duties, as required. Essential Criteria Hold a relevant degree or equivalent level qualification in Environmental Health And Hold relevant experience to include evidence of; a) Enforcement activities across a range of Environmental Health functions. b) The ability to provide advice, guidance and training to help raise awareness of legislation and health issues. c) A current working knowledge of Environmental Health legislation. *Applicants who are approaching completion of degree qualifications and awaiting results will be considered. Hold a valid driving licence with access to a car to meet the needs of the post.
