As a Lift Engineer Apprentice you will work with experienced Lift Engineers to learn and understand the company and requirements to become a qualified Lift Engineer. To be successfully shortlisted for the apprentice scheme you must: * Be qualified to Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard * This must include five passes in the Leaving Certificate (Maths and English must be two of these) * Submit an Ishihara colour vision test – it must be on the SOLAS form What you need to be successful: * To complete a 4 year Electrical apprenticeship, supported through a structured in-house development programme in conjunction with SOLAS. * To undertake a range of tasks suited to the current level of training and development in the lift industry * Attend SOLAS and complete course work on time and to a high standard * Assist and liaise with Managers / Supervisors on relevant work activities * Understand and apply the electrical principles associated with lift installation and lift maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems * Ensure compliance in all Health and Safety practices in current legislation Employment is subject to an interview and reference checks. Have successfully completed an approved pre-apprenticeship training course in an engineering discipline and demonstrate a proficiency in Mathematics similar to O6 in Leaving Certificate. 4. In the case where an applicant is 23 years or over (or employed in the OEM sector for 3 years) and does not meet the educational requirements specified above, they may apply through the Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) process.
