A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled. Details of Service The person appointed to this post will work within the Integrated Services Directorate; working as part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering a coordinated approach to client care. The Public Dental Service provides oral health care for patients eligible for dental services which the Health Services Executive is, or may be, under obligation to provide. A preventative evidence based approach is the fundamental and distinctive character of the public dental service. A dental service is also provided for patients admitted to any institution maintained by the HSE and for those children in the care of the H.S.E. If required an emergency dental service is also provided. Future developments for the service will include enhanced care for Special Needs Groups and Preventative programs. The team structure involves assisting the Principal Dental Surgeon in the general guidance of Clinical Dental Surgeons, Grade 1 and the direct supervision as required of any existing auxiliary dental staff. The service is provided within the Primary Community and Continuing Care Area.
Clinical Nurse Specialist | Community Palliative Care
Clinical Nurse Specialist | Community Palliative Care · 1.0WTE (37.5 hours) · Indefinite duration contract · H.S.E. funded · Based in Blackrock The purpose of this post in is to provide Specialist Palliative Care (SPC) and on-going management to patients and their families/carers under the care of OLH&CS. The aim of the role is to provide for the seamless care of this patient cohort and will involve strong clinical component together with a liaison role with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), specialty services and community services as appropriate to the care of the patient and their family / carers. The CNS will work as a key member of the Consultant-led Inter-disciplinary team providing physical, psychological, social and emotional support to the patient and their family /carers as appropriate to patient need. The post holder’s practice is based on the five core concepts of the CNS role as defined by the NCNM 4th edition (2008) in order to fulfil the role. The concepts are: • Clinical Focus • Patient/Client Advocate • Education and Training • Audit and Research • Consultant Essential Requirements Qualifications: · Registered General Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible to register with NMBI. · Must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development · Must have a level 8 (or higher) National Qualifications Authority of Ireland major academic award relevant to specialist palliative care. Clinical Nurse Specialist Surgical Oncoprevention Service
Purpose of the Post The purpose of this Clinical Nurse Specialist, Surgical Oncoprevention Service post is: The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work with the multi-professional Breast Health team in the promotion of a patient centred approach to cancer patients and their families. In doing so, they will provide nursing expertise, education and a management consultation service to patients, their relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team in all areas of this specialty. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to nurse-led quality initiatives, which meet national, regional and local standards in cancer, supportive and palliative care. The post holder will ensure all high risk patients considering and proceeding with risk reduction surgery are supported throughout their care from surveillance, to preoperative counselling, through to surgery to post-operative discharge. Additionally it is expected that the post holder will also provide cancer care support to those high-risk gene carriers who develop cancer.
