The successful candidates will work in assigned family homes across Letterkenny and surrounding areas. This is a permanent contract of employment working 18 hours per week. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing person centred care to people with dementia in the client’s own home. You will need good communication and organizational skills and be able to work on your own initiative. To be successful in this position it is essential you possess previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activates with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities. Full clean driving license and access to a car essential. A FETAC level 5 is desirable. Confidence in using IT/Email is also desirable. To be successful in this role you will need experience of working with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities. A third level qualification is desirable but not essential. You will need good communication, organisational and administration skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. A full driving licence is essential. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, excellent accuracy, and attention to detail, conscientious and proactive approach to work, ability to understand and respect the need for confidentiality skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. To be successful in this role you will need, to be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). A secretarial/office administration qualification is desirable.
