GALWAY JOB REF: 81067 The Role: The role of the Team Leader post is pivotal in supporting the coordination and management of a residential service in Skylark Services in Athenry, Co. Galway. The main responsibilities are to support resource-management and staffing - including rosters, staff development, facilitating communication and professional leadership in order to ensure a good quality of life for the people living in this Residential service. Experience in providing supports to individuals with complex medical and physical support needs is desirable. Reporting To/ Responsible To: Area Manager/Service Coordinator. Qualifications: The recognised professional qualification for social care is as follows: • HETAC/NQAI BA (HONS) in Applied Social Studies (Disability)/Social Care. • Candidates must be eligible for registration on the Social Care Register at CORU on or before 30th November 2025. View approved qualifications on https://www.coru.ie/health-and-social-care-professionals/education/approved-qualifications/social-care-workers/ • A management qualification is also desirable or a commitment to obtain one. Experience: The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with people with an intellectual disability. Experience of working in a person-centred service with people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour is essential. Experience in community networking and including individuals in their local community is essential. Skills: Candidates should be able to demonstrate leadership, communication and team working skills. The successful candidate will be a flexible and dynamic individual who will relate to people in a range of situations together with an understanding of and commitment to the principles of public accountability as they apply in the health service. A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles. It is essential for the appointee to drive the transport that is assigned to the Service. Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. Working Hours: 39 per week based on a 7 day duty roster. Contracted hours of work are liable to change over seven days to meet the requirements of the service. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 23 days per annum. Remuneration: Department of Health Social Care Leader salary scale (01/03/2025) €55,793 x 6 increments - €65,155 per annum. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays and sleep-in when worked. Tenure: This position is temporary, full-time and pensionable linked to a staff member’s maternity leave. Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
