We now wish to appoint two Health and Safety Officers (one permanent position, one maternity cover position) with a proven ability to work on their own initiative and who can add value to the Health and Safety function within our business. The successful candidates can choose to be based at either our Moira or Omagh sites and will be required to travel to our other sites in Northern Ireland, Donegal and Monaghan. Health & Safety Officer (permanent position) Job Ref No: FV/HSOP/06/26 Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Officers will be responsible for undertaking duties covering all aspects of Health and Safety in the workplace. The Role: Contribute to the development of the Company’s Health and Safety Management systems across all sites; Conduct and update risk assessments; Ensure that employees and contractors are compliant with all Health and Safety Legislation (NI and ROI); Provide advice on health and safety matters to both managers and employees; Carry out health and safety investigations of accidents and near misses; Preparation of monthly health and safety reports and collating health and safety statistics; Conduct site inspections and provide training to employees; The Person: Ideally have at least one years’ experience in a Health and Safety related role and hold a NEBOSH certificate; A 3rd level qualification in a related discipline is desirable but not essential; Knowledge and preferably experience of Health and Safety management systems including hazard identification, risk management processes and investigations as well as familiarity with NI and ROI Health and Safety legislation would be an advantage; Excellent oral, written and presentation skills and a strong eye for detail; The ability to work on their own initiative within a dynamic work environment; Excellent analytical skills and a strong eye for detail; A driving licence and access to their own transport. Clinical Midwife Specialist/clinical Nurse Specialist Lactation And Infant Feeding
The National Maternity Strategy 2016-2026 identified the provision of evidenced based, skilled breastfeeding support as a key area requiring further development. Service users, during the development of the strategy identified breastfeeding as the most important area they wanted greater support with in maternity services. This need was also recognised in the findings of the First National Maternity Experience survey in 2020. Parents wanted more breastfeeding support and greater consistency of information and advice from healthcare providers in hospital units. The CMM/CNM in Lactation and Infant Feeding will be responsible for providing expert breastfeeding support and education to mothers and infants, improving breastfeeding rates and contributing to positive maternal and infant health outcomes. The CMM/CNM post has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are: quality assurance, resource management, staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership. The successful candidate will work within the Women and Infants Directorate. This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams in the hospital and community settings to ensure a holistic patient journey.
