What does the manufacturing automation team do? The team is responsible for designing and developing new automated lines to fulfil the company’s needs. Starting from the user requirements to the final validation of the machine, the team takes parts in all the steps of the process. As a multidisciplinary team formed by mechanical, electrical, biomed and automation engineers we design all the content of the automated lines. Location : Randox Science Park, 30 Randalstown Rd, Antrim BT41 4FL. Contract Offered : Full-time, Permanent. Working Hours / Shifts : 40 hours over four days per week: Monday to Thursday. What does the Automation Engineer role involve? This role is responsible for the design, service, and installation of PLC / Automation within regulations, along with the validation of existing / new equipment to the relevant standards. This is an extremely varied role that will require you to develop a varied skillset, including: • Develop design concepts based on user requirements. • Contribute to the development of functional requirements specification based on user requirement and approved concept designs. • Working with and alongside multi-disciplinary teams to ensure designs are rigorously tested, verified and validated. • Identify appropriately specified COTS products for use with a design.  • Liaise with purchasing department in identification and evaluation of suitable suppliers.  • Generate and maintain technical documentation, specifically but not limited to mechanical drawings, work instructions. FMEA/BOM etc.  • Conduct, review and revise FMEA for equipment designs.  • Contribute to risk/hazard analysis for products under development and released.  • Produce report on status of projects/design to senior management. • Contributing to design change of new and existing products.  • Ensure all systems are designed to high quality to meet compliance and regulatory standard. Who can apply? Essential criteria: • Be qualified to at least degree level in engineering or relevant working experience. • Experience with PLC, Robots and HMIs. • Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogue, reports, and manuals. • Ability to identify and design our repeat failures and develop, participate, and manage continuous improvement projects.  • Strong computer literacy. Desirable: • Experience of similar process machinery (Filling, Capping, Labelling and Printing). • Working knowledge of quality systems.  • Working knowledge of health and safety including COSHH. Education Services Officer

KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Reporting to the Museum Services Manager, the Education Services Officer is responsible for initiation, implementation and management of education policy and programming and visitor events and programming at the Irish Linen Centre and Lisburn Museum and Castle Gardens. The Education Services Officer is also responsible for the event planning and management and the creation of education support materials for exhibitions. Responsibilities include development of a coordinated approach to visitors through the recruitment, programming, training and development of the front of house education staff. This post also requires the design of administration systems necessary for the provision of the education service. The post holder will act as duty manager on a router basis one day in five during the regular week and Saturdays, Bank Holidays and Special events as required. He/ she will also be required to undertake other duties relevant to the post as reasonably determined by the museum and heritage service manager. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Develop education/ event policy which stimulates community and rest in the use of the museum through design and management of the programmes and events. department 2. Divide and provide an education service to the general public, which will include; creating contacts with event suppliers and liaise with schools and colleges statutory and voluntary organisation, special interest groups and individuals as well as advising leaders and others in charge of groups on how to make the best use of the facility. 3. Device promote a manage an annual programme of special events as part of the education service including the organisation of travelling displays lectures, study groups, field trips and promotional events. This may require working from outside contacts and arranging contracts, hire agreements and payment of fees. 4. Advise curatorial staff on how best to optimise the education value of temporary and permanent exhibitions. 5. Establish and develop appropriate administration systems support the education service, including ongoing evaluations and analysis of the effectiveness of the education programme produced and delivered. 6. Establish and develop administrative procedures for the effective management of facility bookings, event planning and negotiation of fees. 7. Manage of the daily basis the work of the Assistant Education Officer (Museum) and Assistant Education Officer (Castle Gardens), Gallery Assistants and temporary staff. Coordinate the preparation and development of training and education programmes and materials for staff and public user groups. Responsibility for the selection, training and development of staff as required. 8. Responsibility for the writing and updating of relevant Risk Assessments and ensuring all Health and Safety legislation, relevant guidelines and Council Health and Safety policies and procedures are complied with in relation to the services and activities at the facility. 9. Ensure compliance with Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of management and personal behaviour, which reflect the core values and behaviours of the organisation. 10. Promote equality of opportunity and access in service delivery and in the employment of staff. 11. Perform any relevant allocated duties as assigned by management. Note: The post holder should be aware that the responsibilities and functional areas of the post may be subject to change as a result of organisational change. PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide Caretaking and Cleaning services as delegated by the Director and in accordance with practices and procedures of the College. Main Duties and Responsibilities 1.0 Security 1.1 Maintain Security of the Premises and its contents; 1.2 Open and close the premises and grounds, except in circumstances where the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person authorises another person to do so; 1.3 Ensure that all windows are closed, doors and gates, both internal and external are locked at he end of each day; 1.4 Safe custody of the keys of the premises and ensuring that keys used by the cleaning staff or External Contractors are returned at the end of each working day; 1.5 Operate and monitor Security CCTV Camera System as directed by the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person; 1.6 Operation of Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm and Building Security Systems and report any faults; 1.7 Attend after-hour break in and vandalism at the premises and ensure that the premises are secure and cleaned at the earliest opportunity when clearance has been given and any unauthorised entry or damage is reported to the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person; 1.8 During normal working hours report any suspicious activity of persons immediately to the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person to ensure a safe working environment for building users; 1.9 Any breach of security must be reported to the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person. A breach would include the finding of used needles, or suspicious illegal substance abuse in accordance with the College’s Policy; 1.10 Apply grit/rock salt in times of snow and frost to ensure pathways and entrances are free from snow and ice. 2.0 Mechanical and Electrical Services 2.1 Efficient operation of the boiler/heating system ensuring value for money and energy conservation; 2.2 Monitor Lighting and heating use within the premises; 2.3 Assist the Line Manager by ensuring adequate fuel is requisitioned in good time; 2.4 Monitor and document the usage of fuel, water and electricity; 2.5 Replace lamps, tubes and plugs to a level of 3.35 m using appropriate equipment, except where access from above can be gained; 2.6 Inspect and report any defects including firefighting equipment to the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person. 3.0 Cleaning 3.1 Clean the premises; 3.2 Assist the Line Manager to plan periodic work in consultation with service users; 3.3 Assist the Line Manager in the implementation of changes in work procedures to improve economy, standards or ease of operation; 3.4 Monitor suitability and performance of material and light equipment and advise the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person where these are inappropriate for the task; 3.5 Ensure that all hard surfaces and paths and ornamental grounds around the property are clean, tidy and free of litter; 3.6 Maintain campus grounds including cutting of grass, weed killing, trimming of shrubs and boundary hedging; 3.7 Ensure that all external surface drains and gullies and kitchen grease-traps within the building complex are free flowing and clean by removing obstructions up to 3.35 m; 3.8 Ensure that bins within the building complex are washed and cleaned (including College’s meals bins); 3.9 Employ on a daily basis litter bins within the building complex; 3.10 Provide an ongoing cleaning service to the entire premises to deal with such things as spillage, flooding, midday toilet cleaning, litter or any cleaning problem associated with weather conditions; 3.11 Replenish toilet rolls, soaps, paper towels and any other requisites required throughout the working day; 3.12 Clean external signs, light covers, and notices up to 3.35 m; 3.13 Clean non-electrical fittings on all portable heating and ventilation equipment. 3.14 Assist the Line Manager on requisition requirements; 3.15 Ensure that all defects in cleaning equipment are reported to the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person; 3.16 Prepare the premises for after-College’s activities, clean and prepare the College’s for its normal use; 3.17 Clean all internal fixed glass surfaces up to 3.35 metres using the appropriate equipment provided to ensure safe working conditions; 3.18 Ensure personal protective equipment and/or work-wear is worn when provided; 3.19 Ensure that the cleaning standards within the premises meet the College’s standards (where appropriate). 4.0 Porterage 4.1 Receipt and transport of stores and material and other goods that have been delivered to the building premises and their distribution to and from appropriate points of storage; 4.2 Despatch goods and other materials from the building; 4.3 Where part of the College premises are used dually for the consumption of food and education purposes the Caretaker will be required to assist with the setting out and removal of tables and chairs and will be responsible for the cleaning of the room (other staff being responsible for the removal of food debris and litter from the tables and the room); 4.4 To transport all refuse bins to and from their collection point; 4.5 Prepare rooms for examinations and other purposes. 5.0 Administration 5.1 Complete all paperwork associated with the post and writing reports when required; 5.2 Ensure that all defects and faults are reported immediately to the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person including electrical cleaning equipment and that all equipment is cleaned and stored safely. 5.3 Complete and record weekly fire test, monthly emergency lighting tests and weekly water flushing logs for all the buildings. 6.0 Handyperson Duties 6.1 Within the competence of the post-holder as directed by the Director, Estates Manager, designated line manager or other authorised person. 7.0 General Conditions 7.1 All duties must be carried out to comply with: (a) The Health and Safety at Work (NI) Order 1978; (b) Acts of Parliament, Statutory Instruments and Regulations and other legal requirements; (c) COSHH regulations; (d) Codes of Practice. 8.0 Elections 8.1 In the event of the College being used for election purposes the Caretaker will be required to carry out such duties relating to elections as are determined by the Joint Negotiating Committee. Copies of the precise nature of these duties will be issued when required. General 9. Comply with and actively promote College policies and procedures on all aspects of equality; 10. Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with College policies and procedures; 11. Ensure full compliance with the College’s quality assurance systems and procedures in accordance with College policies and procedures; 12. Undertake any other duties as required by the College’s Principal and Chief Executive or persons carrying his delegated authority. The list of duties is not exhaustive. The postholder will be expected to undertake other relevant duties in order to meet any changing operational requirements TERMS AND CONDITIONS Terms and conditions of employment are those as laid down by the Non-Teaching Negotiating Committee for Further Education in Northern Ireland and will include locally agreed terms and conditions. Salary Scale Band 3 Scale Column Point 5, £13.20 to Point 6, £13.41 per hour. New appointments will normally be placed on the first point of the scale. Hours of Work The hours of work will be on an as and when required basis. Annual Leave Entitlement Annual leave and statutory days are paid for by way of an allowance for accrued holidays calculated on a pro rata basis.
