CHI at Connolly, is the newest unit and as a standalone facility has a requirement for highly skilled supervising consultant presence to ensure a high level of patient safety. The unit is purpose built for Paediatrics and is supported by Skilled Paediatric Nursing and Health and Social Care professionals. Within the Emergency departments and Urgent Care settings the consultants will also oversee the short stay observation model, which helps prevent inpatient admissions and is associated with reduced average length of stay, reduced hospital costs and high levels of parental satisfaction.
