About This Role Role Purpose The purpose of the Clerical Officer roles in the Media Development and Media Funding teams is to be responsible for the administration aspects of the Journalism, Digital Transformation, Sound and Vision and News Reporting Schemes. About the Teams The Funding Team is part of the Media Landscape Division and is responsible for administering funding schemes that support the production and preservation of culturally significant broadcast content. This includes Sound and Vision, a funding scheme for television and radio which supports the creation of high quality programmes in both English and Irish, focused on Irish culture, heritage and experience, as well as initiatives aimed at improving adult literacy. Media Development is also part of Coimisiún na Meán's Media Landscape Division. A key responsibility of the team is to oversee funding programmes and support the ongoing development of the wider media sector in Ireland. The team manages several funding schemes established following recommendations from the Future of Media Commission. GALWAY JOB REF: 95361 Orchard Services provide day, residential and community-based services using a person-centered approach to meet the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their local community. Our aim is to provide a quality service that promotes the independence and potential of each individual we support at all stages of their lives. The Role: The Team Manager will provide leadership and direction for the team, actively coordinating the team to ensure the development of person-centred services as agreed on the Service Plan for each Service Area. The Team Manager will work with and support the residential staff teams and be responsible for the overall operational management of the residential service with Person in Charge responsibilities as part of the role. The Team Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the service meets the HIQA regulations and regulations as laid out in the Health Act 2007. The successful candidates will work closely with the Service coordinator/ Area Manager to ensure that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner within the agreed budget, and will be proactive members of Orchard Services management team. Staff Grade Medical Scientist for the National Newborn Bloodspot Screening Laboratory (NNBSL) Purpose of the Role: Newborn bloodspot screening is an integral part of the Irish health service. It is a complex process ensuring that all babies born in hospital or in the community are offered screening for a number of inherited or congenital disorders and followed up until the screening process is completed and baby is referred to the appropriate clinical team such that onward testing and appropriate clinical management can be commenced. Heel prick screening The methodologies currently used in the laboratory include mass spectrometry, immunoassay, flurometry and molecular testing. The purpose of this post is to provide a safe, efficient, quality laboratory service in conjunction with other Medical Scientists, to satisfy the needs and requirements of service users (newborns) whose samples are tested as part of the Irish National Newborn Screening Programme. The post holder is required to perform scientific work in the laboratory under the supervision of senior colleagues. She/he will carry out routine analyses, participate in implementing new methods and will actively participate in the laboratory quality management system to ISO15189 standards The successful candidate may be required to work across CHI sites and services in line with organisational requirements and the development of the new children’s hospital and associated services in the validation and commissioning period.
