We are seeking an experienced and motivated Training Specialist to join the team in Letterkenny. Reporting to the Director of Operational Excellence, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing employee capability, driving operational excellence, and supporting a culture of continuous learning across a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities · Deliver onboarding, induction, compliance, and skills-based training programmes. · Facilitate classroom, practical, and on-the-job training across production, quality, engineering, warehouse, and support functions. · Coordinate employee competency assessments, certification, and recertification programmes. · Maintain training records, skills matrices, and training compliance documentation. · Identify training needs and support workforce development and succession planning initiatives. · Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, EHS, HR, and site leadership teams to ensure training supports business objectives. · Support audits, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives. · Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve training materials and delivery methods. Requirements · Third-level qualification (Level 7 or above) in Learning & Development, Education, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. · 3–5 years' experience in a manufacturing, production, operations, or training environment. · Experience delivering training within a regulated manufacturing environment. · Strong presentation, coaching, facilitation, and communication skills. · Excellent organisational and administrative abilities with strong attention to detail. · Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. · Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels and across shift-based operations. Desirable · Qualification in Training, Adult Education, Learning & Development, or Instructional Design. · Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS). · Train-the-Trainer qualification. · Experience in food, pharmaceutical, medical device, FMCG, packaging, or other regulated manufacturing sectors. · Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, GMP, HACCP, ISO, Six Sigma, or similar standards. This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to work as part of the engineering project team. You will have the opportunity of working with leading edge automation technologies such as robotics, vision systems, drives, controls systems etc. It’s a hands on role that involves the mechanical and electrical assembly and debug of complex machines. The role contributes significantly to the continued success of Ward Automation. Responsibilities • Working from the design drawings to perform the mechanical and electrical assembly of bespoke machines. • Mechanical, electrical and pneumatic debug of machines. • Liaise and communicate with the different project team members. • Responsible for the quality of the build. • Responsible for ensuring that machine build timelines and targets are achieved. Key Skills • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings. • Capable of clearly understanding the functionality of the equipment being built. • Ability to troubleshoot and develop creative solutions both mechanically and electrically. • A high degree of craft skill with the ability to setup machines to fine tolerances to produce the desired results. • Excellent communication skills. • Proficient computer skills in MS office, experience with mechanical and electrical CAD software is an advantage.

Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice
The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied. It encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories: constructing and civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include renovating buildings, shopfitting, and exhibition/display work. At the end of the apprenticeship, the craftsperson will be able to demonstrate competence in the following skills:
