Trainee Clinical Perfusion Scientist, Cardiothoracic Theatre, University Hospital
Our Clinical Perfusion Department, situated in the CRC Building of Cork University Hospital, provides the Clinical Perfusion services for approximately 500 adult cardiac surgery cases per year. The two-year trainee programme combines on-site clinical work with an academic programme involving block release in a UK college. Successful completion of the trainee programme will result in a post-graduate MSc. in Clinical Perfusion and accreditation by the College and Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of GB/IRL. The successful candidate will be working as part of the multidisciplinary Cardiothoracic team and will be trained in all aspects of Cardiopulmonary Bypass and other relevant Perfusion techniques.
