We work with all older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, homeless, living in poverty, or are facing other difficulties. We support them through these challenges to help them find long term solutions. Role Overview You will provide leadership and manage a team of Support Co-ordinators, Volunteer Support Officers, Technology Engagement Officers, and Volunteers who provide the full range of ALONE’s services in the following counties; Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. This region of responsibility may be subject to change, as per the planned reconfiguration of HSE areas. The goal is to continuously enhance and expand our support services for older people. Reporting Relationship: You will report directly to the ALONE Head of Services. Responsibilities Our core values guide us to be Compassionate, Honest, Innovative, Effective Other information: The position will require a certain amount of travel. Occasional out of hours, weekend availability and on call may be required. The salary will be in the region of €40 – 45k dependent on skills and experience. We require flexibility around the role and staff may be asked to move between departments and locations. All staff support fundraising, communications and campaigns. The Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS) is an independent body, funded and supported by the Citizens Information Board (CIB), to develop, promote and deliver quality sign language interpreting services to the Deaf community in Ireland, including face to face and remote services.  SLIS is working to enhance the availability and quality of sign language interpreting in Ireland in response to the National Disability Inclusion Strategy 2017-2021 and the Irish Sign Language Act 2017. SLIS Administrator Booking Officer (Full-time, Fixed-term contract to 31 December 2021). The SLIS Administrator provides administrative support to SLIS services including the referral service, social fund, emergency services, access support service and IRIS (Irish Remote Interpreting Service), as well as general organisational administration. Salary The SLIS salary scale for this role is: €28,330 – €43,280, pro-rata for part time work. It is anticipated that new entrants to SLIS will be appointed on the 1st point of the scale. The principal function of the Veterinary Council is to regulate the practice of veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing in Ireland, in the interest of animal health and welfare and in the public interest. The VCI’s Council comprises of 19 members, being both elected and appointed members, veterinary practitioner members, a veterinary nurse member and non-veterinary members. The VCI’s Council is supported by an Executive team of eight people, headed by a Chief Executive Officer, named in the Act as the Registrar. The functions of the VCI include protection of the public through supervision of veterinary education, the publication of Codes of Professional Conduct, the maintenance of the Register of Veterinary Practitioners and the Register of Veterinary Nurses, the registration of veterinary premises, and through disciplinary action in cases of professional misconduct. Role description Under the Veterinary Practice Act 2005, as amended one of the key functions of the VCI’s Council is its function to establish, publish, maintain and review codes of conduct for veterinary practitioners and veterinary nurses. The VCI has established a Review Working Group for this purpose, to study how well the existing Codes are working and to identify any aspects that could be improved.
