Using LinkedIn to Find a Job

Having an updated professional Linkedin profile can be very helpful during your job search. Your CV and Linkedin Profile should be quite similar but as your LinkedIn profile will be static it might be a bit more generic.

Turn on the ‘open to offers’ tab on Linkedin, it will show recruiters that you are open to offers.

Be aware that on receipt of an excellent CV, a recruiter may research you on LinkedIn. Make sure to have a professional head and shoulders profile picture. Having a professionally presented LinkedIn profile could lead to you being headhunted also. Back up your skills and experience by uploading videos and certificates.

Reach out to friends and ex work colleagues on LinkedIn and ask them to endorse your skills, in return you can endorse theirs.

Engage, as in like and comment on posts that are relevant to your industry, this will help you to get noticed. Post about your industry yourself, share your professional thoughts and insights. Join relevant groups and alumnus.
