Citizenship Candidates must, by the date of any job offer, be: a) A citizen of the European Economic Area. The European Economic Area consists of the Member States of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway; or b) A citizen of the United Kingdom; or c) A citizen of Switzerland pursuant to the agreement between the European Union and Switzerland on the free movement of persons; or d) A non-European Economic Area citizen who is a spouse or child of a European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Swiss citizen and has a Stamp 4 visa; or e) A person awarded international protection under the International Protection Act 2015, or any family member entitled to remain in the State as a result of family reunification and has a Stamp 4 visa; or f) A non-European Economic Area citizen who is a parent of a dependent child who is a citizen of, and resident in, a European Economic Area Member State, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland and has a Stamp 4 visa. Particulars of the Post1. Position A panel will be formed from qualified candidates from which permanent and temporary appointments may be made. This is a pensionable whole-time position on the basis of a thirty-five hour, five-day week. 2. Salary The salary shall be fully inclusive and shall be as determined from time to time. The holder of the position shall pay to the Local Authority any fees or other monies, other than inclusive salary, payable to or received by such holder by virtue of the position or in respect of services which are required by or under any enactment to perform. Duties The duties of the post are to give to the local authority, and: a) Such other local authorities or bodies for which the Chief Executive, for the purposes of the Local Government Acts 2001 and 2014, is Chief Executive; and b) Any other local authority or body with which an agreement has been made by the local authority or by any of the authorities or bodies mentioned above, under the general direction and supervision of the Chief Executive, or such other employee as the Chief Executive may from time to time determine, such appropriate services of an executive, administrative, or management nature as may be required. The post holder may be required to act for an employee of a higher level if qualified to do so. Principal Duties Include: a) Working within the Environment Section and being responsible for the development and implementation of a methodology for bringing those affected by waste legislation into compliance. b) Identifying waste producers, ensuring that they are familiar with their responsibilities, and monitoring them on a regular basis to ensure ongoing compliance. c) Achieving the provisions of the National Waste Management Plan and the National Enforcement Priorities in conjunction with the Connaught Ulster Waste Enforcement Regional Lead Authority. d) Monitoring waste generation, disposal, and recycling, and enforcing waste legislation, including but not limited to: g) Attending court and providing witness evidence on behalf of Mayo County Council. h) Providing assistance to other colleagues.
