1. Preamble Mary Immaculate College is an autonomous, university-level, Catholic College of Education and the Liberal Arts. Candidate Profile & Scope of the Position The College wishes to fill 2 posts for the position of Sports Officer – Weights Room / Reception , at Executive Officer Grade on a full-time, permanent basis . The position of Sports Officer – Weights Room / Reception is a key administrative role. The appointee will support the operational delivery of the College’s sports and recreational programmes, with specific responsibility for the safe, inclusive and effective operation of the MIC Limerick weights and cardio facility. The role also aligns with the College’s commitments under the HEA Healthy Campus Charter and the participation-tier ambitions identified by the MIC Sport Strategy Workshop. Essential Skills & Qualifications Increments are awarded in line with national pay agreements.
Receptionist /General Operative
OPW Areas of Responsibility The OPW’s areas of responsibility include sustainably managing the State's property portfolio. The OPW Property Maintenance Services manages statutory and general building maintenance for over 2,200 properties, including government offices and Garda facilities. Services include the delivery of capital programmes, fabric upgrades and planned preventative maintenance across the national portfolio. The Furniture Branch is the central contracting authority for the procurement of furniture. It has a number of areas of responsibility within the OPW, including the supply of furniture, office space planning, reactive services for special events such as State Exams and Elections, collection, storage and redistribution of redundant furniture, while also commissioning bespoke furniture. Incentivised Scheme for Early Retirement (ISER) It is a condition of the Incentivised Scheme for Early Retirement (ISER), as set out in Department of Finance Circular 12/09, that retirees under that scheme are not eligible to apply for another position in the same employment or the same sector. Therefore, such retirees may not apply for this position. Department of Health and Children Circular (7/2010) The Department of Health Circular 7/2010, dated 1 November 2010 , introduced a Targeted Voluntary Early Retirement (VER) Scheme and Voluntary Redundancy Scheme (VRS). It is a condition of the VER scheme that persons availing of the scheme will not be eligible for re-employment in the public health sector, the wider Public Service or in a body wholly or mainly funded from public money. The same prohibition on re-employment applies under the VRS, except that the prohibition applies for a period of 7 years . People who availed of the VER scheme are not eligible to compete in this competition. People who availed of the VRS scheme and who may be successful in this competition will have to prove their eligibility (expiry of the period of non-eligibility).
