Senior Resident Engineer
The Role The Senior Resident Engineer will be responsible for the on-site supervision of the construction stage of relevant contracts and shall perform the duties allocated. The Senior Resident Engineer's primary role is to ensure that the Contractor carries out all their obligations under the relevant contract. The person(s) appointed shall be on site during all working hours of construction. The Senior Resident Engineer shall report to the Senior Engineer, or any other person as may be designated by the Chief Executive, in the discharge of their duties. The post holder will communicate purposefully with the contractor and other stakeholders and monitor the work on site with regard to Health & Safety legislation to ensure that the employer's/client's responsibilities are discharged. Research Officer
Inland Fisheries Ireland has a vacancy for an Research Officer OPWCRP to join the Research and Development division. The Research Officer will be responsible for day to day delivery of IFI’s Office of Public Works Climate Resilience Project (OPWCRP). He/she will be responsible for generating high-quality scientific data to inform the management, conservation, and protection of fish species and their habitats, supporting evidence-based responses to climate change. The broad objective of the programme is to build an evidence based research programme to assess the impact of climate change on the Irish fisheries sector in drained Irish river catchments and he/she will collaborate closely with colleagues working on IFI’s climate change mitigation research programme. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in planning and execution of applied scientific studies in field situations. The work will involve both desk and field investigations. The appointee will produce detailed scientific reports and papers on the progress of the project. The primary role of the NCD Services Hub team is to provide administrative, purchasing and framework support to the Delivery Organisation in ESB Networks. This organisation is responsible for the delivery of a large programme of works annually which includes utilising external contractors and suppliers. The programme covers a wide range of activities including overhead lines, substations, cable/ducting projects and timber cutting. The role is broad ranging and offers scope for variety as the support provided to the Networks Delivery Organisation covers a wide range of activities including Purchase Order creation for work requests received, contractor payments, performance reporting on various programmes, safety support and engaging with the relevant stakeholders nationally. This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain a good understanding of the Networks business and develop/enhance their skills including IT, stakeholder management, financial awareness.
