The role The appointee will report to Finance Manager and shall be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of financial data preparation and inputs which will be relied on for production of financial information and reports to be used in the decision-making process by Managers. Appointee shall ensure accounting data and reports are produced in accordance with best practice. Key to the role is the ongoing development, promotion and delivery of Finance Support Services for the organisation. Reporting will be monthly, quarterly and / or annual activities to management and statutory bodies and funders, in line with contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities Citizenship Requirement: Candidates should note that eligibility to compete is open to citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA) or to non-EEA nationals with an in-date Immigration permission endorsed with a Stamp 4. Days/Hours of Work: This is a full-time permanent role (subject to successful completion of 6-month probation). ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Duties/Responsibilities: • Preparation of monthly financial reporting and analysis. • Preparation of annual financial statements. • Transition of financial statements to Statement Of Recommended Practice (SORP). • Assisting with the maintenance of a schedule of restricted/unrestricted/designated/deferred income. • Support the internal and external audit process. • Preparation of annual budgets and monthly variance analysis. • Preparation of statutory annual returns to the Charities Regulatory Authority (CRA). • Preparation of Funder quarterly and annual compliance returns. • Assist with Funder service level agreements. • Prepare monthly Payroll upload CSV file from our CRM system to capture hours worked, Bank holidays, Holidays, Training, Travel etc. to be uploaded to the payroll system. • Production of monthly invoices on a timely basis to maintain a steady and predictable cash flow. • Remittance reconciliation and follow up with relevant parties on aged receivables. • VAT Compensation Scheme. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience & Skills: • Qualified Accountant, ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent is essential. • Minimum of 3+ years (post-qualification) experience with preferably some experience of working within the charity, social enterprise or public sector. • Technical knowledge in the areas of financial accounting and reporting, management accounting and financia planning, general business and information technology to exploit effective and efficient ways of delivering results. • An understanding of SORP and other voluntary sector legal requirements. • Experienced in management and reporting of large operational budgets (up to €10m) across various services. • Ability to prepare, present, and clearly explain financial reports. • Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate quantitative and qualitative data effectively. • Excellent MS Office skills including well developed knowledge & experience of accounting, auditing and financial systems. • Ability to prioritise multiple competing demands. • Can do attitude, self-motivated and team player. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances – solutions focussed. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Optimistic with a positive solutions-focused approach.
