The programme requires staff who are flexible, multi-disciplined and experienced. A high degree of motivation and commitment to the person-centred model of training is essential, as is a commitment to working with the target group. City of Dublin Education and Training Board (City of Dublin ETB) was established on 1st July 2013 under the Education and Training Boards Act, 2013. City of Dublin ETB has 3,000 employees and an annual budget of €580m. It is the state education and training authority for Dublin city and serves the area covered by Dublin City Council. This provision is delivered to over 48,000 learners (20,000 full-time and 28,000 part-time) and is supported by a range of services including a psychological service, a curriculum development unit, a buildings maintenance unit and Head Office staff in Ballsbridge. It also has statutory responsibility for supporting the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of youth work services in Dublin city and is the lead partner for Music Generation Dublin City. City of Dublin ETB is also responsible for the national awarding authority for student grants in Ireland, Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI). The post holders will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young people, 0-18yrs and their families. The criteria for CNDT is children with complex needs arising from a disability, where those needs require the support of an interdisciplinary disability team. This might include children with intellectual, physical, sensory disability, Autism and children at risk of or query developmental delay. These teams are under the national model of service provision “Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People” lead by the HSE. The successful candidate will be employed by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland. Assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided in the context of an interdisciplinary team. The CDNT aims to maximise the child/ young adult’s full potential and works within the context of the family and community, empowering and supporting parents/care givers and family members . The Candidate: Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc Candidates must have professional qualification as per the Department of Health guidelines See job description for full criteria. Have a university degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject, AND Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology OR An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. AND Applicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post-qualification experience as a professional psychologist. Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years’ experience requirement. Driving Licence Must have a full driving license and means of transport which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads. Age The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants. * Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age.
