2 x Part-time Cook's - Bushypark Addiction Treatment Centre, Ennis Clarecare is a professional social enterprise with charitable status, providing a range of people centred social services to individuals and families in County Clare for over 58 years. Current services provided include Family Support, Elderly Care Services, Counselling and Bushypark Residential Addiction Treatment Centre. JOB DESCRIPTION 2 x Part-time Cooks (each working 35 hours per fortnight on a rota basis) Part-time Permanent Roles DESCRIPTION OF ROLE: Bushypark Addiction Treatment Centre, Ennis is expanding and so is our kitchen! Working with the Bushypark Chef and Centre Manager to cook with purpose and nourish recovery every day, you will ensure that meals are prepared and served in line with HACCP requirements while supporting the residents within the residential service. You will work in a newly designed kitchen where you can make every meal matter. BUSHYPARK OBJECTIVES: To support with the provision of lunch/tea to the residents of Bushypark in conjunction with the current chef in the hours outlined above JOB RELATIONS: The Cook will report to the Deputy Manager of Bushypark and will work closely with the Chef and all other Bushypark staff members. JOB LOCATION: The position offered is based on-site at Bushypark Treatment Centre, V95 A895), but location may change based on operational requirements. Remote/Hybrid working does not apply to these roles. ANNUAL LEAVE: 18 days annual leave per annum (reflecting hours worked) per full leave year (Jan-Dec). As you will work some Irish Public Holidays, you will receive double time for all hours worked for Irish Public Holidays and time+ a half for Sunday working. Clare County Council/ Comhairle Contae an Chláir is the authority responsible for Local Government in County Clare. The corporate headquarters are located at Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis and there are four Municipal Districts (Ennis, Shannon, Killaloe, and West Clare) which are supported through area offices in Ennis, Scarriff, Shannon, Ennistymon and Kilrush. There are 28 elected members, approximately 990 staff and an annual operating budget of €204 million in 2026. Clare County Council provides a diverse range of services across a large geographic area. Key services areas include planning, Local Enterprise Office, rural and community development, transportation, motor tax, water, environment, emergency services along with housing activation & delivery, libraries, and sports & amenities, property management, derelict sites, and vacant homes. These operations are supported by internal services which include ICT & Digital Services, Corporate Services & Governance, Finance and People and Culture functions. There is a diverse demographic across urban and rural communities with tourism bringing seasonal changes in population and activity in the county. The Shannon estuary, Shannon Airport, industrial zones, and geographic location between larger urban areas, coupled with the unique landscape and heritage add to the diversity of activity in the County. Local democracy is strengthened through the Municipal Districts and changes in legislation and regulation have placed greater emphasis on the role of the Local Authority in driving economic activity, ensuring accountability, accessibility and innovation while placing the customer and the community to the fore of service delivery. The duties to be assigned include the following although this list is not exhaustive and may be reviewed from time to time as organisational needs require. The duty of a part-time School Warden is to safeguard children on their way to and from school when crossing busy thoroughfares. Wardens must attend at the crossing to which they are detailed regularly and punctually. In the event of being unable to attend through sickness or any other cause, it is essential that the Line Manager be informed of the fact. On appointment, the warden will be equipped with the following articles of equipment: A portable traffic sign, as prescribed in the Traffic Warden Regulations, 1955, to be exhibited by the Traffic Warden for the purpose of stopping traffic. Personal protective equipment. A form of identification signed by the council. The person employed will be required to perform assigned duties exercising a duty of care, in the interest of safety of oneself, fellow employees and the general public, at all times in compliance with Clare County Council’s Health & Safety Management System. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Character Each candidate must be of good character. Health Candidates shall be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. Education, Training, Experience, etc. Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms: Have a good standard of education to enable them to carry out their duties efficiently. Failure to input and upload proof of essential educational qualifications in your application form will deem you ineligible for this competition. The salary shall be fully inclusive and shall be as determined from time to time. Holders of the post will be paid at the appropriate point on the salary scale in accordance with the relevant Department Circular. Where the appointee has been serving elsewhere in the public service in an analogous grade and pay-scale and will be moving without break to another part of the public sector at an analogous grade, the appointment may be made at the appointee’s current point of scale. The rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Starting pay for new entrants to the sector will be at the minimum of the scale. The current salary scale applicable to the post is €20.59 per hour (February 2026). Organisation of Working Time Act, 1977 (as amended). Normally Wardens are employed for five days (Monday to Friday) each week. School Wardens will not be employed during school holidays or Bank Holidays. The hours will not exceed 4 hours per day. Exact hours of work will be determined by Clare County Council prior to commencement of employment. Each candidate must be under 70 years of age on the latest date for receipt of completed Application Forms for the office if they are deemed not to be new entrants to the Public Service as defined by the Public Service Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004. However, the age restriction of 70 years does not apply to "new entrants" to the Public Service as defined by the Public Service Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004.
