Multi-Task Assistant
JOB DESCRIPTION – MULTI-TASK ASSISTANT – ENNISTYMON DAY CENTRE TITLE: Multi-Task Assistant ROLE: Working under the guidance of the Day Centre Manager, the Multi-task Assistant will support the provision of a high quality, effective and efficient person-centred care to clients in receipt of day care. OBJECTIVE: This is a 1 year part-time, fixed term contract of employment of 3 days per week (Tuesday Thursday & Friday) to assist with the delivery of a Day Centre Service at Clarecare’s Day Centre facility in Ennistymon for up to 20 older persons on a daily basis. JOB RELATIONS: The Multi-Task Assistant will report to the Day Centre Manager and work closely with other Day Centre staff members e.g. Kitchen Assistant, Cook General Healthcare Assistants/Multi-Task Assistants, etc. The Multi-Task Assistant will also be part of the wider Older Persons Services Team in Clarecare. JOB LOCATION: The position offered is currently based in Clarecare’s Ennistymon’s Day Centre at Lahinch Road, Ennistymon, Co. Clare but location may change based on operational requirements. HOURS OF WORK : 3 work days per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). The working week inclusive of breaks will be 15hours per week i.e. Tuesday 12 noon – 5.30p.m., Thursday 12 – 5.30 p.m. and Friday 11am – 3pm. ANNUAL LEAVE: 15.5 days (based on the above work hours per day) annual leave per full leave year (i.e. Jan-Dec inclusive). RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: General Responsibilities: SALARY/GRADE: The gross salary per annum on offer for this part-time 1 year fixed term contract position is €11,367.17 based on a gross hourly rate of €14.57 gross per hour worked which is subject to the normal statutory deductions i.e. PAYE/PRSI/USC. This gross hourly rate of pay will increase by a further 2% on 1st April 2026 and a further 2% on 1st October 2026 pending receipt of funding for same. This however, should not be interpreted as being indicative of any additional salary increases into the future, beyond the above stated terms. Defined Contribution Pension Scheme Membership on successful completion of probation (6 months). “My Future Fund” Government Pension Scheme duringthe 1st 6 months of probation at 1.5% of salary deduction by employee, matched by Clarecare and 0.5% contribution from Government. School Transport Escort
In accordance with Department of Education & Skills guidelines regarding the revision of pay for all staff paid directly by a recognised school or ETB the following are the revised hourly rates for School Bus Escorts. Hourly Rate The hourly rate effective from 1st August 2025 is €15.66. Holiday Pay Holiday pay will continue to be paid at 8%. RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ESCORT • Must ensure that they are on the bus at time of first pick-up and last set down. • Are responsible for the safety of children when opening and closing doors prior to ‘stop’ and ‘move off.’ • Assisting children to board and alight safely from the school bus. • Making sure all children are seated with appropriate straps, harnesses where provided. • Ensure that each pupil is received by some responsible person at the set down point. DUTIES OF AN ESCORT • Supervision of children travelling on bus. • Maintain a good working relationship with the driver of the bus. • Act as liaison between Principal and/or Class Teacher and parents when required i.e. conveyance of messages and letter to parents. • Observe confidentiality in all aspects of work. • Be aware of particular disabilities of children on the bus and be briefed by the principal on how to deal with same, e.g. epilepsy etc. • Perform any other duties relevant to the position of escort which may be assigned by the principal from time to time. • Unless under exceptional circumstances, the escort should never leave the bus. • The escort’s position on the bus should be where maximum control of children is achieved i.e. at back of bus. • Report all concerns to the principal and/or Class Teacher.
