The CCET reports directly to the IHA Manager and ensures the delivery of essential estates services for the Midlands region of Laois, Offaly, Longford and Westmeath (IHA 4) in HSE owned and leased Healthcare Estates. The CCET works closely with the Primary Care Service directorate heads, integrated service managers, hospital managers, community healthcare organisations managers, service managers and other staff in all matters relating to the health estate. Reporting relationship The post holder will report to designated Line Manager to be confirmed at expression of interest stage. Purpose of the post The Chief Clinical Engineering Technician will act as Head of Clinical Engineering with responsibility for the professional management of the Clinical Engineering Service in the 3 Midland Regional Hospitals and Midlands Community Area Of Laois Offaly Longford and Westmeath which includes management of circa 80,000 Medical/ Medical assistive devices and ensure compliance Manufacturer recommendations with national HSE policies and relevant Legislation. The Clinical Engineering Technician, Chief provides the appropriate line manager duties associated with such a position. The holder of this post will not be under detailed day to day supervision and will be expected to exercise initiative in the performance of his/her duties. Having due regard to service needs s/he will also liaise with other staff and grades within and outside the service/line manager as necessitated in the identification, acquisition, and support of safe, effective, and economical technology as part of a healthcare professional team, in the provision, delivery, and advancement of patient care.
