Psychology Services provide a range of assessment, consultation and therapy services across the lifespan. Each psychologist works exclusively within child, adult or disability services as a member of a dedicated team e.g., Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT), Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The services have close links with the Clinical Psychology Doctoral programmes. Many staff also provide lectures as part of the academic modules of the doctoral programme. The services also provide a variety of clinical training placements to trainees from various accredited programmes. Supervision (individual & group) and continuous professional development arrangements are in place for all staff. Reporting Relationship: The successful candidate will report to the Principal Psychologist Manager with accountability for day to day operational matters. Purpose of the Post: Deliver, develop and manage the delivery of a psychology service within Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Cavan Monaghan HSE in line with service plans and objectives and within established professional standards, guidelines and policy. The Senior Psychologist is a core member of the CAMHS multi-disciplinary team delivering psychological consultation, assessment and therapeutic interventions to children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The Senior Psychologist will work collaboratively with the other Senior Psychologists working in CAMHS in Cavan Monaghan. The Senior Psychologist is responsible for: • Active case management • Consultation and support to MDT staff members • Individual client support • Psychological support i.e. individual assessment and therapeutic intervention, support for families, case review • Clinical oversight for cross divisional complex case management • Collaborative working with other services i.e. MHS ACMHT, Primary Care, Disability Services • Provides clinical supervision to Psychologists in Clinical training Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/ or experience. Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and ability, for the proper discharge of the office And iv. Have a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject And iii. Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology Or An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. And iv. Demonstrate competence in the Care Group/s applied for. And v. Applicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post-qualification experience as a professional psychologist. The multidisciplinary team consists of Consultant Psychiatrists, GP’s, Pharmacists, Nurses, Counsellors, Outreach Workers, Rehabilitation Coordinators, Community Welfare Officers, General Assistants supported by an Administration Team. The multidisciplinary team approach incorporates a bio/psycho/social model of therapeutic clinical interventions. Purpose of the Post: To provide managerial administrative support within functions and to manage assigned staff.
