Consultant Neurologist
This post will allow for the development of a new inpatient Consult/Liaison and Outpatient Neurology service to MRHP and its catchment. The lack of such a service was identified as a “serious gap” in the 2016 National Clinical Programme for Neurology Model of Care. Furthermore there will be scope for subspecialisation within an area of Neurology in keeping with the needs of the unit and skills of the individual.The addition of a new permanent consultant will facilitate enhanced access to timely consultant-provided and consultant-led care to Dublin Midlands RHA patients requiring neurological assessment and management. Additional consultant staffing is urgently required for the growing population of the region with the attendant demand and waiting time for specialist assessment, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis
