Support Worker

Locum Support Worker roles are also available. Location: Hyde Services (Roscommon Town, Kilteevan, Athleague, Tremane/Rahara Areas). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Hyde Services and this work location may change due to future service needs. The Role: Support Workers provide a key-working supportive role for individuals supported by the service. The Support Worker role is to support the person in all aspects of daily living focusing on the individual’s ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. The Support Worker will assist and support people who use the service with development of their individual person centred plans and the achievement of personal outcomes, and critically, to support people who use the service in participating in the ordinary everyday life of the community through inclusive and creative thinking. The Support Worker is also responsible for all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being. Qualifications, Experience & Skills: All posts are based on a 14-day duty roster. The successful candidates may be required to work to accommodate an integrated day service, with weekend work, some split duty hours, public holidays, evening/night duty and sleep-ins to meet service needs. The Brothers of Charity Services model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 22 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time), i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked. Remuneration: Department of Health salary scales apply as at 01/03/2025: €33,699 x 11 increments - €46,190 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). A Long Service Increment €46,984 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays, sleep-ins and night-duty when worked. Salary quoted is based on a 39 hour working week. H.W. Wilson Foundation Fellowship The National Gallery of Ireland (‘the Gallery’) is Ireland’s major national cultural institution devoted to the collection and care of fine art. Comprising more than 18,000 paintings, drawings, watercolours, miniatures, prints, sculpture and decorative arts, the institution's extensive holdings include masterpieces by many of the most celebrated figures in the history of western European art. In addition, the Gallery houses the most representative collection of historic Irish art. The Gallery is also home to Ireland’s national art research collections held in the institution’s extensive library and archives. Funded mainly by the State, the Gallery employs more than 180 staff and provides free access to the public 361 days a year. In 2024, the Gallery received numerous awards and accreditations. These included the Triple Lock Standard, which recognises Irish charities that have achieved excellence in governance, financial reporting, transparency and ethical fundraising, and the RIAI’s Silver Medal for Conservation and Restoration. It provides an opportunity for new and recent graduates to receive training and guidance in the unique setting of the National Gallery. Working as part of the Library & Archives team, the H.W. Wilson fellow will work with collections ranging from rare volumes to digital and online resources. Description The long-standing schools programme at the Gallery, caters for both teachers and pupils in primary, post-primary and special education schools, gaelscoileanna and alternative school settings. Across 2024-2026 the Gallery is delighted to partner with SMBC Aviation Capital on a major, nationwide schools programme designed to address barriers to accessing arts in education. This programme aims to make the arts more equitable and inclusive for diverse children and young people, promote creative careers and foreground the value of learning through and about art. To support the delivery of this ambitious programme, the Gallery now wishes to recruit a Schools Coordinator tojoin the dynamic Education Department, and work with the Gallery Schools Officer and SMBC Aviation Capital Schools Fellow on the SMBC Aviation Capital Schools Programme. Reporting to the Education Manager: Special Projects or their nominated deputy, the Schools Coordinator will: · Work with the Schools Officer on the administration, facilitation, delivery and evaluation of the SMBC Aviation Schools Programme. · Be responsible specifically for the delivery, evaluation and development of Your Gallery at School (YGAS), the nationwide artist in schools programme for children in primary, post-primary and alternative education settings. · Assess gaps in national programming for schools and address these through the YGAS initiative. · Work directly with artists, teachers and support staff to ensure YGAS is tailored specifically to the needs of each school, class and community. · Research developments in art education, primary and post-primary curriculum, arts in alternatives settings, and museum practice to inform and refine schools offerings. · Ensure YGAS and the wider schools programme upholds Gallery commitment to EDI, the Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty, and the National Languages Act. · Collaborate with the Schools Officer and Schools Fellow to provide key support on other schools offerings as required. · Co-ordinate multiple free-lance facilitators, guides and specialists · Programme according to Education Policy, Partnership agreements, Gallery procedures, strategic objectives, agreed budgets, best practice, funding stipulations, curriculum frameworks, GDPR and Child Protection. · Maintain and cultivate sustainable and meaningful relationships and partnerships with schools, alternative education settings and other key stakeholders. · Keep accurate, timely budgets, records and reports and contribute to project and programme analysis, evaluation and documentation. · Facilitate lectures, tours, training, and workshops as required for the SMBC Aviation Capital Schools Programme. · Participate in media opportunities as appropriate to publicise the SMBC Aviation Capital Schools Programme and provide content for website and social media. · Process enquiries relating to the SMBC Aviation Capital Schools Programme. · Complete other duties as and when required.
