Upstream NI Schools Project Worker
UPSTREAM NI SCHOOLS PROJECT WORKER Are you passionate about supporting young people before that reach crisis point? Join MACS as a Project Worker for Upstream NI, a new schools-based initiative preventing youth homelessness before crisis hits . As an Upstream NI Schools-Based Project Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering an innovative, early intervention model aimed at preventing youth homelessness across schools in Northern Ireland. Working directly within educational settings, you will use a universal screening tool to identify young people who may be at risk of housing instability or crisis. You will provide person-centred, strengths-based support to young people and their families, helping to address underlying issues before they escalate. Collaborating closely with school staff, families, and external services, you will coordinate tailored interventions that promote wellbeing, resilience, and long-term housing security. Kirk House is “Housing with Care” facility in which independence, freedom of choice, self-esteem and dignity are respected and promoted. Residents are supported to maintain links with their family and local community; and the level of care each receives is tailored to meet their individual needs. Kirk House is situated in landscaped grounds, it comprises of 42 individual flatlets, four of which are designed for couples and two for disabled residents. On wing provides safe and supportive accommodation for nine residents with dementia, providing a pioneering approach to dementia design with a homely feel to make residents more comfortable, independent and reduce confusion. Your new role You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide the high quality care to our residents. Using a person-centered approach you will support a wide variety of residents with all aspects of their day to day living, including social and physical activities, personal care, mobility, and mealtimes. Placement Officer
Introduction: Bryson Pathways, through its Training and Employment team, deliver a range of vocational training and employability programmes to young people and the unemployed. For over 30 years, it has successfully managed and delivered a wide range of qualifications, training, and employment programmes. Job Purpose: The Placement Officer will be responsible for securing work placements and world of work activities through employer engagement for participants on the Skills for Life and Work programme. Principle Duties: • To demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Programme Operational Requirements. • To plan, develop and implement an Employer Engagement Strategy. • To co-ordinate effective marketing and promotion of the Skills for Life and Work programme, to include careers events, community events, employer networks, economic and learning events. • To source, contact and make presentations to employers where necessary. • To provide Careers Information Advice and Guidance and support to participants in relation to the work placement experience. • To ensure work placement targets are met in terms of KPIs/Pulses. • To monitor the health and safety awareness of participants in the workplace. • To assist employers to maximise training and work experience opportunities. • To maintain regular and ongoing engagement with both employer and participant. • To take remedial action, where appropriate, to promptly address issues arising. • To maximise participant opportunities in terms of progression to apprenticeships, further and higher education, and employment. • To liaise with Vocational, Essential Skills and Employability Tutors in relation to progression towards training objectives. • To develop and manage integrated and user-friendly processes and procedures to maintain records covering all aspects of participant and employer contact. • To ensure all operational and administrative aspects of the programme are adhered to and meet quality standards in line with DfE and ETI requirements. • To represent the organisation on employer forums, economic networks, community boards and groups where appropriate. • To manage, collate and disseminate programme information to the Department for the Economy, ETI, and the Management Team. • To ensure monitoring, review and evaluation is ongoing and appropriate.
