GALWAY JOB REF: 81093 A panel maybe formed from this competition from which subsequent Driver/Porter posts for the Skylark Services, Athenry may be filled. The Role: Minibus Driver/Porter Reporting/Responsible To: Service Coordinator/Area Manager Qualifications: Candidates must have received a good general education and hold a full clean Driver’s Licence – Class D1. Candidates must have completed their CPC examinations/modules and must hold the CPC Qualification Card. This must be produced and checked at the interview. Experience: The successful candidate must have adequate training and driving experience to enable them to carry out satisfactorily the duties of the post and ideally have some experience of working with people with an intellectual disability. Working Hours: 60 hours per fortnight based on a 5 day week duty roster. These are split shift posts covering the centre transport AM and PM 5 days per week. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 7am - 7pm to meet Service needs. You may also be required to work weekends and public holidays as service needs require. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Special Lecturer In Palliative Medicine University College
Special Lecturer in Palliative Medicine University College Dublin · 1.0WTE (39 hours) · Fixed Term contract (24 months) · HSE Funded · Based in the Academic Department of Palliative Medicine The purpose of this position is to provide undergraduate education in palliative medicine to UCD medical students. The post holder will engage in undergraduate medical curriculum planning, coordination and teaching and will work closely with the Trinity College Dublin (TCD) affiliated special lecturer. The role will include coordination of postgraduate teaching including Palliative Medicine Grand Rounds, and setting up the new simulation suite within the Education & Research Centre. The postholder is expected to support the research programme within the ADPM, and to develop their own research projects. The post holder will be expected to apply for research funding for these projects, and to publish/present the results of the projects. The post holder will help to support other researchers within the ADPM in conjunction with the Professor of Palliative Medicine. Essential Requirements Qualification: •Hold a recognised postgraduate qualification accepted as an entry point to higher medical training in Palliative Medicine (MRCPI, MRCP, MICGP or MRCGP) • MD or PhD in Palliative Care/Medicine • Full registration in the General, Specialist or Trainee Specialist register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland Experience: •At least one year’s experience in Palliative Medicine or a related specialty at Registrar or Specialist Registrar level • 4+ years post graduate experience •Experience of student education. •Can demonstrate a high standard of clinical competence •Experience in research • Experience in teaching / delivering presentations on recognised courses or at conference • Publication of articles in professional journals • Experience in simulation Desirable Requirements Qualification: • Completed a recognised Educators course Informal enquiries for these positions are most welcome.
