Packaging Operative – Level 2 Job Overview The successful candidates will be based within the Operational areas of our Newry Facilities and will assist in the packaging of a wide variety of pharmaceutical products whilst ensuring that all operations are performed in line with GMP standards and Health and Safety guidelines. Our Manufacturing teams work to tight schedules, packing sterile and non-sterile products to meet Customer orders. They also work with our Quality teams to ensure that we produce high quality products at all times. Many of our manufacturing suites have been upgraded recently as part of our overall capital investment programme. Main Activities/Tasks Level 2 operative will assist the assistant packaging manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the packaging department in line with daily operational requirements and quality standards. Cleanroom Microbiologist
Job Overview The Cleanroom Microbiologist will be mainly based in our manufacturing areas and will be responsible for gathering samples from these areas for quality assurance purposes. Development Support Officer
** Please read Recruitment Pack before completing your application form ** Main Purpose of Post/Job: Responsible for assisting the Sports & Leisure department in developing and implementing the Council strategies with regards to capital and revenue schemes and allocating capital/revenue purchases. Duration of Appointment: Temporary to cover secondment to 30 May 2025 (however this duration may vary if period of secondment concludes earlier or may be extended or made permanent) Salary: Scale 6, SCP 20-24 currently £30,296 - £33,024 per annum based on a 36 hour week (pro rata to hours worked). It is Council policy to appoint at minimum salary scale point. Hours of Work: Hours of work are: 36 hours per week. The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant. Work Pattern: Flexi 36 hours Monday to Friday Location and transferability: Location is Newry Leisure Centre, Newry. Whilst the current vacant post is based in Newry Leisure Centre, Newry, suitable candidates who are placed on a reserve list may be offered a similar post in other Council locations. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time. Any amendments made to work location will be implemented following appropriate consultation and provision of reasonable notice.
Facilities Officer

This will include the safe day to day operation and maintenance of systems, for example, but not limited to heating, ventilation, water treatment, alarm, electrical fire safety within their / designated area. In doing so, the postholder will support to maintain a high level of service within the designated areas of responsibility. LGV Category C Driver

Main Purpose of Post/Job: Working within Sustainability and Environment (Refuse Collection), the post holder will be required to provide, in a safe and effective manner, a quality and efficient Refuse Collection Service including all recycling collection activities, in all weather conditions. The post holder, as Team Leader, will be expected to interact with the public in an appropriate manner and within own initiative to ensure service is provided within the area of responsibility of the post holder. The post holder may be required to drive any vehicle requiring a LGV Category C class of licence, providing relevant training has been provided. The post holder will also be responsible for staff supervised on a day to day basis. Duration of Employment: Permanent 1 x Permanent position in Greenbank Depot, Newry 1 x Permanent position in Strangford Road, Downpatrick Temporary 1 x Temporary post based in Greenbank Depot, Newry to cover career break until 8.3.2026 (however this duration may vary if career break concludes earlier or may be made permanent if postholder does not return from Career Break). Other Temporary and Permanent positions may also be taken from the reserve list. Hours of Work: 36 hours per week. Work Pattern: Newry Monday 8.00am – 3.45pm (7 hours and 15 minutes) Tuesday 8.00am – 3.45pm (7 hours and 15 minutes) Wednesday 8.00am – 3.45pm (7 hours and 15 minutes) Thursday 8.00am – 3.45pm (7 hours and 15 minutes) Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm* (7 hours) Downpatrick Tuesday – Friday: 7.30am – 5.00pm* (9 hours) * Due to COVID 19 pandemic, start times have been temporarily amended and the successful candidate will be required to start work from 6.30am. Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice.
