Packaging Operative – Level 2 Job Overview The successful candidates will be based within the Operational areas of our Newry Facilities and will assist in the packaging of a wide variety of pharmaceutical products whilst ensuring that all operations are performed in line with GMP standards and Health and Safety guidelines. Our Manufacturing teams work to tight schedules, packing sterile and non-sterile products to meet Customer orders. They also work with our Quality teams to ensure that we produce high quality products at all times. Many of our manufacturing suites have been upgraded recently as part of our overall capital investment programme. Main Activities/Tasks Level 2 operative will assist the assistant packaging manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the packaging department in line with daily operational requirements and quality standards. ** Please read Recruitment Pack before completing your application form ** Main Purpose of Post/Job: Responsible for assisting the Sports & Leisure department in developing and implementing the Council strategies with regards to capital and revenue schemes and allocating capital/revenue purchases. Duration of Appointment: Temporary to cover secondment to 30 May 2025 (however this duration may vary if period of secondment concludes earlier or may be extended or made permanent) Salary: Scale 6, SCP 20-24 currently £30,296 - £33,024 per annum based on a 36 hour week (pro rata to hours worked). It is Council policy to appoint at minimum salary scale point. Hours of Work:   Hours of work are: 36 hours per week. The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant. Main Purpose of Post/Job: ​​​​​​​Working within Sustainability and Environment (Refuse Collection), the post holder will be required to provide, in a safe and effective manner, a quality and efficient Refuse Collection Service including all recycling collection activities, in all weather conditions. The post holder, as Team Leader, will be expected to interact with the public in an appropriate manner and within own initiative to ensure service is provided within the area of responsibility of the post holder. The post holder may be required to drive any vehicle requiring a LGV Category C class of licence, providing relevant training has been provided.
