The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team and provide Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions to Oak Unit, an Intensive Care Psychiatric Unit (PICU) for male patients. They will also provide supervision and support to Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants working within other units of the service. The service is a part of the wider Dublin North City adult mental health Occupational Therapy Service and there is a strong emphasis on collaborative working, quality supervision and continued professional development. To work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation. The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high quality Occupational Therapy service and will carry out clinical and educational duties as required. For informal ive treatment with appropriate discharge of patients from hospital. To work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic intervention and discharge planning along the palliative care pathway To provide physiotherapy leadership to the rehabilitation team and link closely with the medical and surgical teams, surgical oncology physiotherapy seniors and the wider MDT. Close collaborative across the physiotherapy department team structure is essential. To map future acute physiotherapy intervention for oncology patients, including the promotion of physical activity for this cohort, the role of physiotherapy in enhanced recovery pathway, (including pre-habilitation and on-going rehabilitation post discharge) to improve patient outcomes. Senior Speech And Language Therapist, Heart Lung Transplant Cardiothoracic Service
The Senior SLT will possess and develop relevant clinical knowledge in the area of Speech and Language Therapy specific to heart and lung transplant and cardiothoracic surgery. Together with SLT colleagues, the Senior SLT will support the provision of a high quality, efficient and evidence based SLT service to adult inpatients referred from heart and lung transplant and cardiothoracic surgery areas with communication and swallowing disorders including patients with tracheostomies and/or ventilator dependency. She/He will support the development of the heart and lung transplant and cardiothoracic surgery SLT service. The Senior SLT will work closely with the heart and lung transplant and cardiothoracic surgery MDTs to develop and deliver the service at MMUH.
