The HTA Directorate comprises approximately 60 analysts. The scope of the HTA Directorate’s work includes providing evidence synthesis and evidence based advice to inform public health policy, and providing health technology assessments to inform decision making on investment or disinvestment in health technologies and programmes, including decisions in relation to national screening and national immunisation programmes. Teams within the HTA Directorate also perform evidence synthesis to support the development of National Clinical Guidelines and the development of national health policy, and evidence synthesis reviews to inform decisions related to the generic justification of practices involving medical exposure to ionising radiation. Since 31 March 2025, HIQA hosts the National Immunisation Advisory Committee, Ireland’s National Immunisation Technical Advisory Group. Staff from the HTA Directorate provide the clinical, technical and administrative secretariat for the committee to support the development of independent evidence based advice on vaccines, immunisation and related health matters to inform health policies in Ireland, and updates to the Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland. HIQA works collaboratively with high level stakeholders, with academic groups and with international health technology assessment agencies to deliver these objectives. Methods development and academic outputs are actively encouraged and the Directorate hosts a range of postgraduate fellowships and an active postgraduate degree training programme. The post holder will actively engage in the work of the HTA Directorate and of HIQA to deliver on the annual business plan in line with the strategic objectives as outlined in HIQA’s Corporate Plan. Pay Candidates will be appointed on the minimum point of the salary scale (€75,448) and in accordance with Department of Finance guidelines. The rate of remuneration will not be subject to negotiation. The incremental progression for this scale is in line with Government pay policy. Blended Working Arrangements HIQA has introduced blended working to offer more flexible working arrangements to all employees. The organisation aims to strike a balance between being flexible, efficient and resilient by facilitating blended working where practical, while enabling onsite interaction, collaboration and support as required. All roles in HIQA have been assessed under the criteria of business needs and role suitability for blended working. This determined the proportion of time that employees will spend working in HIQA offices and working from home, depending on their role. Depending on the role, there may be a requirement to attend the office for more than the allocated number of days for training and onboarding purposes at the start of employment and during the probation period. HIQA is moving from Interim Blended Working to a long term Blended Working Model. The existing policy and documentation will be revised and updated once the framework for the Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Act is published. The model is in line with the Civil Service Framework for Blended Working in Ireland Further guidance on HIQA’s Blended Working Policy, including eligibility criteria, will be issued to successful candidates. Beach Lifeguard
Fingal is a highly attractive place to live, work, visit and do business. It comprises a geographical area of 450 sq.km stretching from Balbriggan in the north, to Blanchardstown in the west and to Howth in the east. The area is defined by the diversity of its landscape and settlement patterns with rural, urban and suburban locations all rolled into one county. There is 88kms of coastline, three large protected estuaries and salt marsh habitats and 13 major beaches. Fingal County Council is one of the county’s major local employers and currently employs approximately 1,600 staff. The Council is mandated to deliver a diverse range of functions and services which can be broadly described under the headings of the provision of physical and social infrastructure, housing, economic and tourism development, community development, recreation and amenity services and the management of the planning and environmental regulatory framework. The role of the County Council as provided for in law is to represent, lead and serve the communities of Fingal. 1. Duties You may be assigned to any beach during your employment. Additional duties may be assigned to you by a designated person appointed by Fingal County Council and duties may change from time to time. You will be provided with a list of duties as part of your induction training. · To provide supervision of activities at public bathing places in order to prevent drowning accidents. · To provide emergency rescue service in the case of accidents. · To render first aid when possible. · To provide advice to the public regarding facilities, tides, hazards, etc. · To ensure that from the start of the duty period that the appropriate flags are flown and are changed or re-located as necessary during the day. · To inspect all lifesaving and first aid equipment on arrival for duty to ensure that adequate stocks are available and in good working order. · To inspect the patrol area and where possible to remove any dangerous or offensive items. If the lifeguard cannot deal with the matter he should immediately report to his supervisor. · The names and attendance times of all guards on duty. · The general weather and tidal conditions. · What flags were flown and when they were changed during the day. · Any information which may assist the Authorities in improving the service. · To complete all appropriate rescue and first aid forms. 2. Qualifications and requirements of the post CHARACTER Each candidate must be of good character. HEALTH Each candidate must be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, ETC. Candidates must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms: (a) Beach Lifeguard Certificate as awarded by Irish Water Safety, RLSS or equivalent. (b) Applicants renewing their Beach Lifeguard Certificate may also apply. Particulars of Employment NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT The post is temporary and may be whole-time or part-time to commence on Saturday 30th May, 2026 and cease on Sunday 30th August, 2026. RATE OF PAY Successful candidates will be paid at the 1st point of the Lifeguard salary scale which is €16.79 per hour . An additional weekend differential rate is paid for working at weekends. Salaries will be paid fortnightly by means of a credit transfer to a financial institution. Statutory deductions will be made as appropriate. HEALTH For the purpose of satisfying the requirement as to health it will be necessary for successful candidates, before they are employed, to undergo a medical examination by a qualified medical practitioner to be nominated by the Local Authority. Recruitment A local authority may decide, by reason of the number of persons seeking admission to a competition, to carry out a shortlisting procedure. The number of persons to be invited, in these circumstances, to interview shall be determined by the local authority from time to time, having regard to the likely number of vacancies to be filled. Selection will be by means of an interview conducted by or on behalf of the local authority. Candidates will be required to pay any expenses incurred by them in attending the interview. Panels may be formed on the basis of such interviews. Salaries pro rata for part-time work. Incremental Credit It is expected that all new entrants to the temporary Information Officer post will be appointed at point one of the salary scale. However, Dublin South Citizens Information Service operates an incremental credit process for appointments higher than point one. This process is applicable to new entrants into the post. Incremental credit criteria, based on the competencies for the role, are assessed against employment history as laid out in the application form only. A request for incremental credit from a successful candidate must be made within the first 3 months of employment. The decision on whether or not to award an incremental credit is a decision made by the Board and is subject to the availability of funding. Pension A company pension scheme is in place, and membership is obligatory upon commencement. Employee contribution: 5% of salary. Employer contribution: 7% of salary. The Central Bank of Ireland serves the public interest by safeguarding monetary and financial stability and by working to ensure that the financial system operates in the best interests of consumers and the wider economy .The Central Bank seeks researchers for a duration of up to 11 months under its Economics Internship Programme, though can support a shorter internship where applicable. This role is an internship position aligned with the Bank Executive salary scale. Successful applicants will be placed on the first point of the scale which is currently €39,090 per annum. There are currently 5 internships available across the Irish Economic Analysis Division, Monetary Policy Division, International Finance Division, Macro-Financial Division and the Digital Euro Unit in our Economics and Statistics Directorate, Financial Stability Directorate and the Financial Operations Directorate, respectively. These business areas provide opportunities to conduct high-quality research to support policy discussions and risk assessments within the Central Bank. While efforts are made to align the work of interns with their own research interests and skills, they are expected to work and collaborate on a project of live interest to the Bank. Potential research topics and areas include; International Finance Division: Research to assess the systemic risks emanating from the activities of non-bank entities (such as investment funds, money market funds and hedge funds) and to understand the potential benefits of macroprudential policy to mitigate such risks. Irish Economic Analysis : Research on productivity, investment and trade, household consumption and saving, wages and labour market dynamics and drivers of inflation using a range of micro and macroeconometric tools and datasets, including semi-structural and DSGE models. Digital Euro Unit: Research on the drivers and implications of the rapidly evolving payments landscape, including the role of Central Banks and the private sector, digitalisation and innovation, and user behaviours and preferences. Monetary Policy Division : Research on the measurement and drivers of inflation, monetary policy transmission and effectiveness in response to a range of different shocks and macroeconomic environments. Macro-Financial Division : Research on systemic risks (cyclical and structural) and quantifying downside tail risks to domestic financial stability, measuring the resilience of borrowers (firms and households) and lenders, including through macroprudential stress testing, and measuring the costs, benefits, and transmission of macroprudential policies.The Economics and Statistics, Financial Stability and Financial Operations directorates are collegiate working environments and successful candidates will have available to them a wide range of supports including software, conference attendance, training and supervision from an experienced economist. Candidates will also become familiar with the working environment of the Central Bank. Clinical Nursing Specialist – Eating Disorders The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Eating Disorders will be assigned the authority to participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the development, implementation, management and delivery of care and treatment for patients attending the specialist eating disorder programme. The may also provide consultancy services to MDTs that require advice regarding this specialist area. Responsibilities: · Articulate and demonstrate the concept of nursing practice within the framework of relevant legislation, the Scope of Nursing & Midwifery Practice Framework (ABS2000), The Code of Professional Conduct (ABA 2000) and Guidelines for Midwives (ABA 2001). · Implement philosophies, policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines of Saint John of God Hospital. · Adhere to Nurse and Midwifery Board of Ireland Guidelines, the Mental Health Act 2001, the Child Care Act 1991 and Children’s First Guidelines. · Have a comprehensive knowledge of Eating Disorders and the range of therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities available. He/she will demonstrate specialist knowledge of and expertise in the delivery of care, thus demonstrating a higher level of clinical decision making skills in the area of mental health and illness. · Deliver and co-ordinate the Eating Discovery Programme both inpatient and outpatient (i.e. Remote Programme, Day Care, Aftercare). · Work with both inpatient and outpatient clients. · Engage in assessment, planning and evaluation of care to all individuals and families on their caseload. Essential Qualifications : · Evidence of current registration on the Psychiatric division of the register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be eligible to register. · Extensive clinical experience and expertise (a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in mental health services including relevant eating disorder experience). · An extensive knowledge base regarding the care and treatment of individuals experiencing an eating disorder and the impact of the disorder on the individual (physically and psychologically).
