Role Introduction: Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US in both large-scale Motorway Service Areas and Travel Plazas, as well as smaller petrol stations. The business has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 16,000 people. Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and to support this ambitious growth, we are seeking to onboard an IT Director in our ROI business. We are looking for someone to lead the Ireland IT team in providing the end-to-end IT service, to lead IT projects and to drive local improvements for the business. This role will oversee end-to-end program delivery, ensuring successful deployment, strong governance, and stakeholder alignment. This role will report to the Head of Projects and Innovation. Staff Medical Scientist For The National Newborn Bloodspot Screening Laboratory
Staff Grade Medical Scientist for the National Newborn Bloodspot Screening Laboratory (NNBSL) Purpose of the Role: Newborn bloodspot screening is an integral part of the Irish health service. It is a complex process ensuring that all babies born in hospital or in the community are offered screening for a number of inherited or congenital disorders and followed up until the screening process is completed and baby is referred to the appropriate clinical team such that onward testing and appropriate clinical management can be commenced. Heel prick screening The methodologies currently used in the laboratory include mass spectrometry, immunoassay, flurometry and molecular testing. The purpose of this post is to provide a safe, efficient, quality laboratory service in conjunction with other Medical Scientists, to satisfy the needs and requirements of service users (newborns) whose samples are tested as part of the Irish National Newborn Screening Programme. The post holder is required to perform scientific work in the laboratory under the supervision of senior colleagues. The Candidate should have the following: Qualifications, experience & skills · Previous experience in a data management role or a graduate who has a high interest in working with systems and data. · Ability and willingness to learn multiple IT systems. · Ability to work in a team and to achieve tight deadlines to meet the business service level agreements. · Demonstrate analytical capability to interpret and challenge data and to identify where data may not be accurate or incomplete. · Previous experience in working with SAP system or POS systems in a data management role would be an advantage. · Detail orientated with ability to understand and see the broader impacts if the data is not entered correctly. · Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation. · Proven ability to work on your own initiative and deliver to tight deadlines under pressure. · Committed and self-motivated that can adapt to change within a fast-moving environment. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work in a team, achieve tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and effectively time-manage.
