Mini Digi Hubs Project Officer
The purpose of the post is to assist in driving the €583,000 (Euros) project towards achieving required outputs and the project objective in line with Council priorities. The project objective is to promote the development and adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, enhancing the efficiency and interconnectedness of community and business operations. This will involve managing capital investment into the development of Comber Community Centre to ensure it is fit for purpose to be used as a Digi Hub. It will also include the procurement and management of delivery, of an IoT solution for the purposes of setting Comber Community Centre up as an exemplar of IoT. Following installation of the IoT solution a contract or contracts will be procured and managed to provide workshops, mentoring and masterclasses to the business community hosted in Comber Community Centre. It is anticipated that the IoT related activity of the post will result in the collation of data to establish a more effective management of Comber Community Centre. Location: Deerpark Services provides community based day, respite and residential services to adults with varying support needs based on personal outcome measures. Our focus is to form a relationship/partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to have the chance to form real friendships. The Role: The Social Care Worker will report to the Team Leader and will fulfil a key role in providing a safe, secure environment where individuals will participate in community and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfil their potential and expectations with opportunities for new experiences. We are looking for individuals with experience working with people with complex needs including autism, mental health issues and behaviours that challenge. Candidates need to be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individual’s they support on a daily basis. A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads and use of your own car is an essential requirement. Good IT skills and a knowledge of the organisations IT system is essential. Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. Experience: Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability is desirable. Experience of working with individuals with challenging behaviour/ mental health diagnosis and/or autism is essential. GALWAY JOB REF: 79146 The Role: Support Workers provide a key-working supportive role for a group of people supported by the services. This role comprises of two main elements. Firstly, the Support Worker is responsible for ensuring high quality provision of supports to people who use or Day services in line with current New Directions policy. This includes supporting individuals where required in a range od daily living skills which aim to build on people supported independence in line with their will and preference. This can include but is not limited to support in areas of Food and nutrition, personal development and other related aspects of physical well-being, to the extent required by the individual. Secondly, a major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist people supported by the services with development of Individual Plans and the achievement of associate outcomes, and critically, to support individuals in participating in the ordinary everyday life of the community through inclusive and creative thinking. A recognised qualification in the field of intellectual disability or a FETAC level 5 course is desirable.
