Training Standards Officer

Job Summary Title: Training Standards Officer Grade: 7 (€50,832p.a. - €66,083p.a. )  Reporting to: Manager Section: Training Services Division: Loughlinstown Training Centre Function of Job: To provide an Assessment/Quality Assurance service in respect of all training activities. Job Objectives DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direction of the Manager, provide relevant and timely advice, information and support to Management, Instructors, Contract Training Officers on matters relating to the assessment process, the processing of certification, training materials and training aids, training methodologies and training practices to meet the requirements of certifying bodies associated with the delivery of programmes. Advise the Management Team on any improvements/actions required to the Quality System. Implement Strategic Review recommendations, Providing assistance with the Development and Review of Course Training, specifications/Assessments and Training Plans for Adult, Community and Apprentice Courses as set out in the Quality System. Contribute to the development of national initiatives and policies to assure the quality of all programmes in line with Awarding Body requirements. Provide assistance with the provision of information for the Programme Evaluation Process. Assist the Management Team in the identification of Staff Development issues for the introduction of New or Revised modules/courses. Administer the Curriculum, Assessment Content Management System  (CACMS), Result Capture Certification Request System (RCCRS), Programme Learner Support System (PLSS) and other assessment application systems as required of courses. Control the application of assessments and certification processes for Adult courses, Second Provider Provision and the Standards Based Apprentice Assessment System. Ensure that all matters in relation to the Assessment and Certification processes are conducted in a correct and proper manner in accordance with the process and procedures set out in the Quality System and in accordance with the criteria outlined by the relevant certifying bodies. This includes, but not exclusively, the following: Follow up on any recommendations from these groups. Support the learner appeal process with the relevant documentation for the Assessment Appeals Panel. Co-operate with and facilitate visits for external monitoring /verification processes from the Award Councils or 3rd party certification providers. Provide staff and second providers of training with briefings/training as required in relation to the Quality System and assessment specifications and procedures. Assist the Management Team with Certificate Award Ceremonies, if required. Keep abreast of developments in Training Design and Training Delivery and Assessment Techniques and keep the Management Team advised on best practice. Liaise with Development Officers, SOLAS and Awarding Bodies and keep the Management Team advised on developments. Liaise and support all the certifying bodies in their assistance to DDLETB. Undertake any other duties/projects as requested by the Manager.
