The Waterford Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland is now recruiting for a part time Branch Administrator to join the Team.  We are dedicated to enabling people with Down syndrome to live life to the fullest. We aim to do this throughout their life through social, educational, and developmental activities.  Working as a member of the Clare Branch Team, you will be involved in the development and delivery of a dynamic, volunteer led service for the Down Syndrome Community in the county.  As Branch Administrator, you will actively engage with members, families, carers, and stakeholders in providing a strong service for our membership.  Responsibilities:  The Branch Administrator will have working relationships with people inside and outside the Branch. It will demand working with the public, members, families, carers, staff and volunteers of the Branch.  Hours & Location:  This is a part time position working 15 hours per week. Hours of work will be between 10 am – 1 pm 3 days per week on a fixed term 3 month contract.  Occasional weekend and evening work will be required to facilitate branch committee meetings and branch social events.  This role will be based on on-site working. CANDIDATE PROFILE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION The College wishes to fill the position of Executive Officer Human Resources on a full-time, permanent basis. The position of Executive Officer – Human Resources Office is a key administrative role. The appointee will have responsibility for a wide range of duties relating to the functioning of the Human Resources Office. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and will have diverse responsibilities in a complex setting, liaising with staff, line managers and Heads of Departments and other stakeholders. JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting Relationship The appointee is required to carry out the duties attached to the post, under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Human Resources, to whom they report, and to whom they are responsible for the performance of these duties in the first instance. The appointee will report through the Director of Human Resources to the College President and/or such other College Officers as the President may designate from time to time. They will liaise with the Vice-Presidents, Deans of Arts and Education, Heads of Departments, Course Leaders, Heads of Professional Services functions and other College personnel and with relevant College bodies in carrying out the duties attaching to the post. The reporting relationship is subject to review and may be altered from time to time, in line with service needs and developments in the College. Duties and Responsibilities Salary will be paid on a monthly basis on the 25th of each month, or the previous Friday if the 25th falls on a weekend, using the Paypath facility. Payment of salaries and wages are subject to statutory deductions: Income Tax (PAYE), Superannuation Contributions, PRSI, and USC. Increments are awarded in line with national pay agreements. Superannuation New entrants to the public service will be required to participate in the Single Public Service Pension Scheme and pay Superannuation contributions at the appropriate rates. All other eligible appointees are automatically included in the Colleges’ of Education Pension Scheme. Deductions amounting to 6.5% are made from salary. Pension Abatement Appointees entitled to or in receipt of a pension from the Civil or Public Service will be subject to pension abatement in accordance with Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions Act 2012. Annual Leave The annual leave entitlement is 25 working days. Leave must be taken when students are off campus and must be approved in advance by the Line Manager. Public Holidays are granted in accordance with the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997.
