THE ROLE The Assistant Civil Defence Officer, who is an employee of the local authority, is responsible in assisting the Civil Defence Officer with the day-to-day management of the Civil Defence. The principal role is to be prepared to support the Principal Response Agencies and more recently to provide support to the Community Response Forum. Rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy. Under the Public Service Stability Agreement 2013, the working hours for newly appointed/promoted staff are 35 hours per week.
