Candidate Criteria: Qualifications The Purpose of This Role: The Registered General Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals undergoing procedures and medical and surgical interventions. The Registered General Nurse will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while adhering to best practice guidelines and hospital protocols. Key Responsibilities: Be responsible for the safe pre-operative and post-operative care for patients from admission to discharge. Promote patient focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant health agencies. Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring they are fully informed about their treatment and addressing any concerns they may have. Demonstrating safe and effective infection control practices Liaise with CNMs/Consultants regarding any clinical complications/concerns Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and experience. To be accountable for his/her own clinical practice, maintaining and improving professional knowledge, competence and scope of professional practice, in accordance with NMBI. Maintain awareness of national, professional and local quality issues relevant to the delivery of nursing services, for example, JCI & HIQA. Multi Task Attendant, General Hospital
Details of Service Bantry General Hospital provides acute general hospital services to the population of a unique, rural, very large geographical area encompassing West Cork and South Kerry. The hospital is a 118 bedded acute general hospital and provides, within available resources, a large range of inpatient, outpatient and day care services in response to identifying needs and in accordance with the principles of equity, people centeredness, quality and accountability. The hospital also includes a 24 bedded HIQA registered residential unit. Six Health Regions have been established within the HSE, on the basis of the geographical boundaries agreed by the Government in July 2019 and they will be operational from 2024. Each Health Region will be tasked with population specific planning resourcing and delivery of health and social care services for the needs of its unique population. This will result in improved accountability and governance in terms of finance and performance, while also bringing decision-making closer to the frontline. Health Regions will enable and empower staff to provide services that are: • Integrated, locally planned and delivered • Easier to access and navigate • Available closer to home Health Regions are geographically-based units with clearly defined populations. Fellowship in Obesity Medicine Location: Centre for Obesity Management, St Columcille’s & St Vincent’s University Hospitals (SCH/SVUH) Dublin Clinical Lead: Dr Jean O’Connell Duration: 9 Months A Fellowship in Obesity Medicine provides valuable subspecialist training opportunities to future leaders of healthcare delivery, and SCH/SVUH is uniquely placed to provide this training. SCH/SVUH Centre for Obesity Management (COM) is an accredited European Association for Study of Obesity Collaborating Centre for Obesity Management (EASO COM), and national referral centre for complex obesity and bariatric surgery, with an experienced and specialist MDT, and a track record of clinical and translational research and thesis supervision. The Fellow will gain clinical experience within the SCH/SVUH COM multi-disciplinary team, an experienced team of health professionals, including dietitians, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical social worker, clinical nurse specialist, advanced nurse practitioner, endocrinologists and bariatric surgeons. The team have established pathways of care with the respiratory/sleep disorder clinic in SVUH, and recently developed a transitional care pathway with Child & Adolescent Obesity Services in CHI.
