Purpose of Job As Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and promoting waste recycling services. The role focuses on building long-term relationships with commercial, industrial, construction, and public-sector clients to increase recycling volumes, improve customer retention, and drive revenue growth. The successful candidate will have strong sales and relationship management skills, an understanding of environmental sustainability, and the ability to promote waste reduction and recycling solutions tailored to customer needs. Key Responsibilities Business Development · Identify and develop new business opportunities in the waste management · Generate leads through networking, cold calling, site visits, and industry events Relationship Management · Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including businesses, local authorities, and contractors · Promote company recycling services (e.g., plastic, metal, paper, e-waste, hazardous waste solutions) · Conduct regular client meetings and waste audits to identify opportunities for improved recycling and waste diversion. · Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention. · Act as the primary point of contact for customer queries relating to recycling and waste management services. · Liaising with customers to resolve queries in a timely and professional Market Awareness · Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer needs · Producing and analysing daily, weekly, and monthly reports across multiple contracts. · Collaborate with operations teams to ensure service delivery meets client expectations Commercial · Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM system. · Produce regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and activity reports. · Work collaboratively with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery. · Support tender submissions and public procurement opportunities where required. Essential Experience · Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent), or able to demonstrate significant, relevant experience in a similar role with a proven track record of achievement. · 1–3+ years of experience in sales or business development (waste management industry preferred) · Familiarity with contract management processes, including monitoring performance against KPIs and SLAs. · Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. · Proven track record of achieving sales targets · Competent in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. · Valid driving license and access to own transport Desirable Experience · Experience within the waste management, recycling, environmental services, or sustainability sector. · Knowledge of waste legislation and environmental compliance. · Experience responding to tenders and procurement opportunities. · Familiarity with contract management processes, including monitoring performance against KPIs and SLAs. · Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities from data and operational activities. Office Supervisor
Purpose of Job The Office Manager / Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the weighbridge department within a waste recycling facility. This role ensures the accurate processing of vehicle weights, waste documentation, customer accounts, and site administration while supervising office and weighbridge staff. The position plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Weighbridge Operations · Supervise daily weighbridge activities for incoming and outgoing vehicles. · Supervise daily weighbridge activity across both sites, ensuring all vehicles and loads are weighed and logged on time · Ensure accurate recording of weights, waste types, customer details, and transport documentation. · Monitor and maintain weighbridge software and reporting systems. · Ensure weighbridge tickets are completed correctly and filed in line with environmental and site compliance standards. · Resolve discrepancies relating to weights, tickets, or customer accounts. · Coordinate vehicle flow and communication with site operations teams. Office Administration · Manage office administration procedures and ensure records are maintained accurately. · Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports. Staff Supervision · Supervise and support weighbridge operators and administrative staff. · Provide training and guidance on company procedures and compliance requirements. · Monitor staff performance and promote a positive working environment. · Organise staff rotas, holidays, and daily workload allocation. · Help balance workloads across the team, stepping in to support operations when priorities change. Customer & Driver Relations · Act as the main point of contact for customers, drivers, and suppliers. · Handle customer queries, complaints, and service requests professionally. · Maintain strong working relationships with contractors and transport providers. Weighbridge Operations & Data · Monitor data entry and movement records, checking for accuracy and resolving any issues quickly. · Ensure weighbridge tickets are completed correctly and filed in line with environmental and site compliance standards. Customer Paperwork & Releases · Coordinate and prepare customer waste releases, keeping a close eye on contract deadlines. · Send customers all required documentation, including weighbridge tickets, packing lists, and supporting photos where needed. · Act as the main point of contact for customer queries, ensuring a smooth and helpful service from start to finish. Essential Criteria: · Experience working in a busy, fast-paced weighbridge or similar operational environment. · Strong admin and data accuracy skills, with confidence managing paperwork and records. · A team-first attitude with the ability to train and support others. · Comfortable coordinating customer communication and releases within deadlines. · A practical and organised approach to scheduling and daily operations. It is essential that you possess previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people, or people with intellectual disabilities. A full clean driving licence and access to a car are essential. A QQI Level 5 qualification is desirable. Confidence in using IT and email is also desirable.
