Medical Scientist / Biomedical Scientist- Blood Transfusion Purpose of the Role: The purpose of this post is to provide a safe, efficient, quality Blood Transfusion service in conjunction with the Chief Medical Scientist, to satisfy the needs and requirements of service users and in in compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO15189. Essential Criteria: Candidates must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the post, possess: a) Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the Technological University of Dublin / Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street; or b) Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork - Cork Institute of Technology course; or c) Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or the Cork Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1994; or d) Possess Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or Cork Institute of Technology or the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (awarded prior to 1997) or e) Bachelor in Science degree with Honours for Biomedical science (which is recognized as a Health & Care Professions Council, UK (HCPC) approved) or f) A recognised qualification at least equivalent to (A) - (E) above; And Be registered with CORU or be eligible for registration Or Be currently registered with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist How to Apply and Informal Enquiries: Applications for this post must be accompanied by a cover letter, setting out relevant experience that illustrates how the essential criteria listed above is met. Clinical Nurse Manger, Infection Prevention & Control Department
Purpose of the Role: The purpose of this post is to lead and co-ordinate the established Infection Prevention and Control Nursing Team (IPCT) and will be responsible, with the DON IPC and the Consultant Microbiologist(s) for co-ordinating, providing and maintaining comprehensive IPC in the organisation. To enhance patient care by developing services relating to the prevention and control of infection and to assist overall in optimising quality and continuity of care. The post holder will work collaboratively with the CNM3 in the Crumlin site (governance over Crumlin and Tallaght), to ensure that there is CNM3 cover across sites. Essential criteria: 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc (a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered. And (ii) Have at least 5 years post-registration fulltime experience (or an aggregate of 5 years post-registration full-time experience) of which 2 years (or an aggregate of 2 years post registration full time experience) must be in the specialty or related area. And (iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. And (iv) Candidates must have complete the Higher Diploma in IPC or equivalent and demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development. And (b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. · Chief II Pharmacist Grade · 0.5 WTE (17.5 hours), · Temporary Specified Purpose Contract - 12 months initially (There may be an option to extend to 3 years depending on the roll out of the Community Connect Programme for Specialist Palliative Care nationally) · HSE Funded The EPMA Local Lead Pharmacist will be responsible for providing the highest standard of specialist pharmacy expertise and leadership at local level for the innovative development, implementation and ongoing support of the National Specialist Palliative Care-Clinical Management System (SPC-CMS)project at OLH&CS and MCC within Community Connect. He/she will work with their local pharmacy teams, steering groups and CMS project leads. The EPMA Local Lead Pharmacist will be responsible for leading on the development of a digital electronic prescribing and medication administration (EPMA) solution as part of the CMS project to support medicines management in OLH&CS, MCC and specialist palliative care services nationally. The EPMA Local Lead Pharmacist will be responsible for providing leadership in implementing complex clinical and service change within their local SPC teams. He/she will need to work collaboratively with other departments such as nursing, medical and information technology departments Essential Requirements: Qualifications · Be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (The Pharmacy Regulator) or be entitled to be so registered. · Have a full driver’s license Experience · Have a least 5 years satisfactory post-registration hospital experience or other applicable experience.
