JOB PURPOSE To undertake a key role in supporting students, including assisting in the planning, securing and monitoring of placements, assessment and recording of student progress, and pastoral care. Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork Placements and Competitions • Engage with employers to secure placements, virtual and non-virtual. Match learners with placements and develop industrial links through the establishment of partnerships and further placements. • Assess the compliance of the work placement with Health and Safety, Insurance cover and other relevant criteria, and ensure all relevant documentation, PPA, insurance, etc. is completed and securely retained. • Ensure that students are familiar with their responsibilities on work placement, including Health and Safety and Child Protection / the Protection of Vulnerable Adults, and complete all induction requirements. • Responsible for the creation and completion of E-ILP/EPTP and co-ordinate with the course team. • Visit students on a regular basis and complete appropriate reports and reviews to ensure that they are meeting the requirements of their course and completing relevant documentation. • Report on student progress at Case Conferences. • Provide mentoring support to students in preparation for competitions and assist in the organisation and administration of competitions. • Develop industrial links through the establishment of partnerships and further placements. Pastoral Care • Monitor the attendance of students in work placement and follow up where necessary, providing support and addressing any issues or problems arising. • Follow up by telephone or letter any students who have not been attending placement and action referrals as appropriate to Inspire, MACS Learning Support and other support agencies. • Support all students in their learning experience to maintain regular and consistent attendance, including addressing issues relating to physical or mental well-being, domestic or college-related concerns, and financial difficulties. • Implement College initiatives to improve student attendance, retention and performance levels. • Provide assistance and support to lecturers to increase the level of student progression. • Facilitate meetings with relevant stakeholders, including parents, DfE Careers, social workers, etc. • Undertake administration associated with student absences, student sickness, and the submission of internal and external returns, including processing of student withdrawals. Assessment • Carry out assessment for students as appropriate in accordance with awarding organisation body guidelines and SERC Quality policies and processes. • Provide regular oral and written feedback to Curriculum Teams and Heads/Deputy Heads of School on assessment progress. • Undertake continuous professional development as required to meet awarding body work-based assessment requirements. General • Provide support for recruitment and marketing initiatives, including Open Days, Parents' Evenings, enrolment rota and interviews as required. • Participate in and support induction programmes, including assisting with the collection and processing of exam certificates/results and issuing and recording protective clothing and equipment issued to students. • Utilise the capability of College Management Information Systems and ensure completion of all administrative requirements in line with College and DfE requirements. • Participate in the sharing of good practice. • Liaise closely with curriculum managers, course tutors and other relevant staff and attend regular course team meetings. • Assist the course team in the student disciplinary procedure. • Ensure that all documentation and authorisation procedures are adhered to. • Act as an ambassador for the College and promote SERC's range of industry training programmes to internal and external stakeholders. • Negotiate with employers on trainee transition from non-employed to employed status and process all relevant documentation in order to maximise funding. Please note such posts may be based at any College Campus. Selection CriteriaEssential Assessment Criteria Hold a Level 4 qualification or equivalent. Hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent. A current driving licence and access to a car, or have access to a form of transport that will enable the post holder to fulfil the role in full. Experience of using the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. An ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a range of stakeholders through various methods. Demonstrate ability to create and develop links and effective working relationships with stakeholders. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Desirable Selection Criteria Hold a recognised Assessor Award (A1, D32, D33) or be willing to work towards it. Experience of organising work placements and liaising with employers. Experience of assessing students/trainees. Experience of working with and supporting apprentices, trainees, or students and/or experience of working on training and employment programmes. Experience of using a Management Information System to collate, update and extract data.

Job Purpose: The leadership and performance of their department, including the delivery of all relevant corporate targets, excellent teaching & learning, student success. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Director of Curriculum in the College’s strategic approach to Higher Education.
Learning Support Assistant Register

The successful applicant may be required to work in any of the College’s buildings, as necessary. Job Purpose: To support Students with learning difficulties and disabilities in the Centre for Supported Learning and/or Inclusive Learning.
Student Support Notetaker Register
Temporary as and when required during the academic years 26/27 and 27/28. These position(s) will be engaged on a temporary ad-hoc basis, under Agreement for Services provision. The successful applicant may be required to work in any of the College’s buildings as necessary. Job Purpose: To act as an educational notetaker to produce notes on behalf of students with disabilities who are studying a range of courses at Belfast Met.
Administrative Officers
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The postholder will assist with the efficient running of the section and will work as part of a team. Main Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the provision of an administrative support service to include preparing agendas/minutes, organisation of meeting schedules, computerised and manual filing, photocopying, distribution of internal and external mail, telephones, dealing with queries and any other associated tasks. Administrative duties associated with the processing and tracking of employee/employer records to comply with requirements for the completion of internal and external reports and the return of reports to Department for Economy & Department for Community – enrolments, registers, qualifications, achievements, personal details, employer information. Administer the processing, inputting and maintenance of college systems. Administrative duties associated with the production and analysis of statistical data as required by Management and external bodies. Support Management by keeping management reporting data up to date. This will include updating spreadsheets, collating data from others and ensuring that others have entered data. Liaise with other staff across a number of functional areas to carry out the duties associated with the post. Liaise with marketing and other staff as appropriate to ensure that public information on the website and other channels is accurate and up to date. Operate the College’s policies and procedures in relation to staff and/or students relevant to the Department. Provision of information and advice in relation to straightforward issues from customers, students and staff. Be responsible for entering purchase orders onto the College’s Agresso system as required. Be responsible for the completion and tracking of monitoring responses to evaluations/surveys. Assist with the compilation of claims and checking of data. Assist in the preparation for both internal and external audits and liaise with auditors as required. Work within a College Quality framework and ensure compliance. Provide administrative support to designated Managers as and when required. Plan and organise events and functions as appropriate. Ensure that all documentation and authorisation procedures are adhered to. Receive and handle cash in accordance with audit requirements. Undertake training to ensure familiarity with systems and procedures. Assist in providing support for other College Sections/Departments as required, particularly during peak enrolment periods. Provide a high-quality, flexible and professional customer service to all users as measured against established service benchmarks. Provision of reception duties. Ensure full compliance with College Policies and Procedures on all aspects of Equality, Health & Safety and Quality Assurance. Develop strong working relationships within all teams within the College to ensure that objectives are met. Represent the department in a professional and positive manner with both internal and external stakeholders and, in doing so, reflect the values of the College. Ensure that all work and output are of the highest quality, following all agreed standards. This will include making recommendations for quality improvement and monitoring quality on an ongoing basis. Remain up to date and informed of the College, its products and developments. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Terms and conditions of employment are those laid down by the Non-Teaching Negotiating Committee for Further Education in Northern Ireland and will include locally agreed terms and conditions. Salary Scale Band 3 Scale Column Point 5, £25,583 to Point 6, £25,989 per annum pro rata. New appointments will normally be placed on the first point of the scale. Hours of Work The hours of work will not normally be less than 36 per week for full-time posts. Part-time hours may also be available. The hours of duty, which may be on any of the College sites, will be such as laid down to meet the needs of the College and may include periods of duty after, as well as before, 5.00 pm on any Monday to Friday. Annual Leave Entitlement Entitlement to annual leave is 23 days in a full holiday year in addition to 12 public and extra statutory holidays. Annual leave will be pro rata for part-time positions. Entitlement to leave in the first year of employment is pro rata to the number of months completed. Pension Scheme There is an Occupational Pension Scheme relating to employment with the College. Further details will be provided on appointment. Other Employment No other employment should be entered into during the period of employment with the North West Regional College. Maintenance Fitter
Purpose of the Job As part of the Maintenance team the Maintenance Fitter will assist in problem solving activities on key technical equipment problems and provide support to maintenance teams on technical equipment when required. They will work closely with all staff in each area to ensure the smooth running of core business plant, maximise the utilization of machinery and equipment, proactively work to eliminate plant downtime and make improvements to the processes.
