Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB), provides a comprehensive range of education and training services throughout the region. One of 16 ETBs nationally, MSLETB has the largest geographical area, covering 9014 km² across the 3 counties. MSLETB serves a population of 243,000 people and its head office is located in Castlebar, with additional offices in Sligo and Carrick-On-Shannon. We have a 21-member Board which has oversight of the services provided by almost 1700 staff, to over 22,000 learners, with an annual budget of almost 120 million euro. Our learners include fulltime students in post primary schools and also learners engaged in a wide range of Further Education and Training Courses. MSLETB educational provision includes 19 second level schools, while further education and training services are provided through education colleges, training centres and a range of adult and further education and training centres. Empowerability Co-ordinator
EmpowerAbility Co-Ordinator - EmpowerAbility Fixed term contact until December 2028, Full-time 35hrs per week (1.0 WTE). This role is funded through the WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme. Co-funded through the government of Ireland, through the department of social protection, and the European Union. We are delighted to offer the opportunity for a dynamic, solution‑oriented Coordinator to join our Pobal‑funded EmpowerAbility Programme. This is a vital, hands‑on role focused on supporting adults with disabilities to progress into employment, further education, and training, enabling them to be valued and active members of their communities. Aligned with the WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme and underpinned by a Human Rights‑Based Approach, the role’s primary purpose is to support people with disabilities to gain and sustain employment or to access education and training that improves their employment prospects. The postholder will work collaboratively with adults, their circles of support, and multidisciplinary teams to co‑design personalised pathways to education, employment, social participation, and independent living. The EmpowerAbility Coordinator will be based within Adult Day Services at the Civic Centre, Ballymun, and across other CRC locations as required. The role involves recruiting and supporting programme participants to integrate fully and meaningfully into their communities through the development of socially valued roles. The postholder will coordinate the day‑to‑day running of the EmpowerAbility programme, support the EmpowerAbility team, and ensure the programme meets its outcomes and targets through the development of successful, sustainable pathways. SHO in Medical Oncology - 1 year post Duties will include outpatient clinics, management of ambulatory SACT patients ( IV and Oral), acute oncology duties and cancer-specific MDT attendance. As an integral member of the Regional HSCP team, the HSCP Disability Services Practice Education Project Officer will support Disability Services across the HSE, Section 38s and Section 39s to further develop the practice education infrastructure. This will include building on existing initiatives and development and supporting an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to practice placements at local level with a view to increasing capacity and quality of clinical placements across disability settings in a sustainable way. The post holder will work closely with the HSE National HSCP Office to contribute to and inform development of national initiatives to support practice education in disability settings, to test and implement new approaches, models and frameworks and to support development of the HSCP practice placement database. There will be a strong emphasis on co-creation and working in line with the principles underpinning development of HSCP Deliver and People’s Needs Defining Change, the Health Services Change Guide.

Candidates must have active Irish Medical Council Registration. Previous experience in Ireland is desirable 3 years experience in Respiratory Medicine is essential. Candidates must have completed all relevant membership exams BLS & ACLS Valid OET/IELTS examinations (where applicable. Portiuncula University Hospital comprises of 194 beds which includes plans for a new 50 bed ward block opening in August 2024. Portiuncula University Hospital provides 24/7 acute surgery, acute medicine, critical care, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology along with a 24/7 Emergency Department which had 30,283 attendances in 2023. The hospital serves the catchment areas of East Galway, Westmeath, North Tipperary, Roscommon and Offaly and has a natural referral pathway to the Midlands. Ballinasloe is the largest town in County Galway. The town has excellent junior and secondary schools and is close to the University of Galway and the Technology University of Shannon in Athlone. The town is served by public transport to the major centres. The area offers an abundance of sports, leisure and entertainment facilities. The town offers easy access to major regional centres of Galway City. Education & Training: Portiuncula University Hospital is a recognised site for training of undergraduate medical students from University of Galway and graduate entry medical students from University of Limerick. We are an accredited site for intern training for the West North West Intern Training program. We offer Basic Specialist Training in General Medicine to Senior House Officers on the RCPI training program and also an approved site with the ICGP West training scheme for GP training. We have international trainees on the CPSP program through RCPI and we also have Basic and Higher Specialist trainees in Surgery, Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. There is formal structured weekly teaching for all medical staff in general internal medicine topics, MRCP teaching and exam preparation, advanced clinical skills training and inter professional simulation based education in the care of the deteriorating patient on a monthly basis.
