EmpowerAbility Co-Ordinator - EmpowerAbility Fixed term contact until December 2028, Full-time 35hrs per week (1.0 WTE). This role is funded through the WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme. Co-funded through the government of Ireland, through the department of social protection, and the European Union. We are delighted to offer the opportunity for a dynamic, solution‑oriented Coordinator to join our Pobal‑funded EmpowerAbility Programme. This is a vital, hands‑on role focused on supporting adults with disabilities to progress into employment, further education, and training, enabling them to be valued and active members of their communities. Aligned with the WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme and underpinned by a Human Rights‑Based Approach, the role’s primary purpose is to support people with disabilities to gain and sustain employment or to access education and training that improves their employment prospects. The postholder will work collaboratively with adults, their circles of support, and multidisciplinary teams to co‑design personalised pathways to education, employment, social participation, and independent living. The EmpowerAbility Coordinator will be based within Adult Day Services at the Civic Centre, Ballymun, and across other CRC locations as required. The role involves recruiting and supporting programme participants to integrate fully and meaningfully into their communities through the development of socially valued roles. The postholder will coordinate the day‑to‑day running of the EmpowerAbility programme, support the EmpowerAbility team, and ensure the programme meets its outcomes and targets through the development of successful, sustainable pathways. Hsemw Health & Social Care Professions Practice Education Project Officer, Oifigeach Tionscadail
As an integral member of the Regional HSCP team, the HSCP Disability Services Practice Education Project Officer will support Disability Services across the HSE, Section 38s and Section 39s to further develop the practice education infrastructure. This will include building on existing initiatives and development and supporting an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to practice placements at local level with a view to increasing capacity and quality of clinical placements across disability settings in a sustainable way. The post holder will work closely with the HSE National HSCP Office to contribute to and inform development of national initiatives to support practice education in disability settings, to test and implement new approaches, models and frameworks and to support development of the HSCP practice placement database. There will be a strong emphasis on co-creation and working in line with the principles underpinning development of HSCP Deliver and People’s Needs Defining Change, the Health Services Change Guide.

Fixed term contract from the 11th of May 2026- 16th of August 2026 --Portiuncula University Hospital are advertising for the role of Respiratory Registrar in our General Medicine Department. Candidates must have active Irish Medical Council Registration. Previous experience in Ireland is desirable 3 years experience in Respiratory Medicine is essential. Candidates must have completed all relevant membership exams BLS & ACLS Valid OET/IELTS examinations (where applicable. Portiuncula University Hospital comprises of 194 beds which includes plans for a new 50 bed ward block opening in August 2024. Portiuncula University Hospital provides 24/7 acute surgery, acute medicine, critical care, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology along with a 24/7 Emergency Department which had 30,283 attendances in 2023. The hospital serves the catchment areas of East Galway, Westmeath, North Tipperary, Roscommon and Offaly and has a natural referral pathway to the Midlands. Ballinasloe is the largest town in County Galway. The town has excellent junior and secondary schools and is close to the University of Galway and the Technology University of Shannon in Athlone. The town is served by public transport to the major centres. The area offers an abundance of sports, leisure and entertainment facilities. The town offers easy access to major regional centres of Galway City. Education & Training: Portiuncula University Hospital is a recognised site for training of undergraduate medical students from University of Galway and graduate entry medical students from University of Limerick. We are an accredited site for intern training for the West North West Intern Training program. We offer Basic Specialist Training in General Medicine to Senior House Officers on the RCPI training program and also an approved site with the ICGP West training scheme for GP training. We have international trainees on the CPSP program through RCPI and we also have Basic and Higher Specialist trainees in Surgery, Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. There is formal structured weekly teaching for all medical staff in general internal medicine topics, MRCP teaching and exam preparation, advanced clinical skills training and inter professional simulation based education in the care of the deteriorating patient on a monthly basis. This is a 39 hours a week position. The role will involve assisting in the provision of Health & Social care in all aspects of daily life for our core members that we support. To ensure that the Residential Service is run in keeping with the ethos and spirituality of L'Arche as outlined in our Identity and Mission Statements. To assist the House Leader and Deputy House Leader in regard to compiling and presenting reports as required. To work with the volunteer Live In Assistants for the smooth running of the house. To promote the dignity and image of the Core members. Must be willing to be flexible to cover the seven day roster that include days, nights, sleepover, late evenings and weekends. To maintain the Health and Safety of the working area, maintenance of written records, monitoring accidents, incidents, reporting and recording them appropriately. The applicant must have a minimum of a Fetac/QQI level 5 in Healthcare/Social Care. There is a six month probationary period applying to the employment and is subject to Garda vetting. Purpose of the Role: The post holder has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing nursing activity and resources within the Orthopaedic-Spinal department in CHI. He/she applies speciality- focused knowledge and skills to manage and lead a high-quality service for orthopaedic-Spinal patients. The role encompasses key result areas including development and implementation of policies and procedures, service planning in terms of needs analysis, activities, targets, and priorities, ensuring delivery of safe quality patient care and deployment of resources to include budgeting and workforce planning. In conjunction with their ADON and the Orthopaedic-Spinal Project Manager he/she will play a key part in strategically planning for the scheduled and unscheduled care for orthopaedic spinal patients that attend CHI. Working on the further development of the model of care for paediatric orthopaedic spinal services and its implementation. He/ she forges strong links with the appropriate nursing teams on all CHI sites to ensure that nursing practice within the discipline of Orthopaedics achieves optimum benefit for the patients. The post will also have a key role in providing clinical leadership and promoting the values of the organisation and will provide efficient and effective budgetary management of services. The post holder will work as part of the senior nurse management team in the hospital and the directorate.
