Central Decontamination Unit Technician
Central Decontamination unit Technician Purpose of the Role: The role of the CSSD Operatives is to assist the CDU/EDU team in the delivery of a high quality decontamination service to the hospital, under the supervision of the Decontamination Manger, Deputy Manager and or Supervisor in the CDU/EDU. His/her primary role is to assist in the provision of sterile and/or high level disinfected instruments, endoscopes, procedure packs and materials to Theatres, Wards and Departments in a timely manner for use during clean and/or sterile procedures. The CSSD Operatives will be directed on a daily basis under the supervision of Decontamination Manager / CDU Deputy / CDU Supervisor in relation to duties and responsibilities associated with service delivery for that day. The management team will decide which area or duties they will allocate to the CDU Technician for that day or part thereof. The CSSD Operative must ensure confidentiality for all patients and maintain and promote good working relations with all users of the CDU/EDU service. Essential Criteria: · Leaving Certificate / a qualification equivalent to that of a national awarding body. · A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Healthcare Setting. · Knowledge of HSE Standards and Recommended Practices for Central Decontamination/Endoscopy Units. · Candidates must hold a certificate in Decontamination and are required to submit a copy with application for post (online course accepted) How to Apply and Informal Enquiries: Applications for this post must be accompanied by a cover letter, setting out relevant experience that illustrates how the essential criteria listed above is met. Harold Engineering Ltd require an apprentice MAMF to train as a Field Service Engineer with focus on compressed air & garage equipment division: the role will comprise of service and maintenance calls to a large existing customer base both in Galway and the surrounding counties. The role is open to first year apprentices. In your role as apprentice you will: • Gain knowledge, experience and support while learning to install, maintain and repair compressed air plant, Garage Equipment and ancillary equipment within customer sites while working alongside qualified and competent persons. • Learn how to carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with maintenance schedules • Deal with reactive maintenance calls as required and learn valuable on the job experience. • Learn how to Identify and implement PM improvements on equipment • become familiar with the process of Maintaining computerised and manual records/reports and liaise with service department personnel / suppliers and customers alike Requirements: • Experience in an MAMF role would be beneficial • Basic Electrical Experience would be beneficial • Hands on approach to solving problems, learning on the job is a must • Excellent communication, interpersonal and reporting skills • Ability to work as part of a team • Be flexible in terms of operational requirements and customer demands be willing to travel to other sites as part of reactive maintenance • Be prepared to work flexible patterns as and when required by reactive maintenance schedule

An Overview of the Level 8 Quantity Surveyor Apprenticeship An apprenticeship is a full-time programme that combines work-based learning with a formal training programme. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will work as a full- time member of staff with your employer, who will release you to attend the structured training programme with the training provider the earn as you learn approach. The learning component will be delivered through Atlantic Technological University, Co. Sligo Initially who function as the co-ordinating provider along with SCSI for Quantity Surveyor Apprenticeships in Ireland. The academic modules will be delivered online one day per week, with remaining four days on the job. Those who successfully achieve all programme elements will attain a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). Attendance at all scheduled training and achieving the various certifications involved, is a mandatory requirement for you to successfully complete the programme. The start date for apprentices recruited to join the programme will be early September 2026. Please note that requests for deferrals cannot be accommodated.
